I know you guys are collecting the daily strips, but has there been any thought given to one shots or collections - similar to what Boom and, especially, Gemstone did?
I'd love to see Christmas and Vacation Parades.

We're talking about it. We'll see...

Mustang has made a motion that IDW reprint the Christmas Parade and Vacation Parade comics. I second the motion. Let's put it to a vote! And I would also love to see reprints of Dell's Mickey Mouse Almanac and Christmas In Disneyland comics.
From 1990 to 1993, the Walt Disney Company published its own comics under the Disney Comics imprint. Along with the regular monthly titles, there were six giant-sized seasonal issues. The first Holiday Parade comic included Carl Barks' "Three Good Little Ducks" story, which first appeared in the 1947 Donald & Mickey Merry Christmas comic given out at Firestone Tire & Auto stores. The story has always been one of my favorites. Christmas 2015 is approaching---a perfect time for IDW to reprint "Three Good Little Ducks."

Or you could wait for Fantagraphics to print it in the Carl Barks Library! :)

Thomps, the story was reprinted again by Boom in 2009 and by Fantagraphics in 2013. Great as it is, it's in print right now... so you've already got the modern reprint you want, if not in the exact format you expected.

I have the 1990 Disney Comics reprint and I have the Boom Comics reprint and I have the 30-volume Carl Barks Library which (of course) includes the story but I'd love to see "Three Good Little Ducks" in an IDW comic with the nicer paper and new digital coloring. I wonder---Does anyone know which Carl Barks stories have been reprinted the most times? And which ones have been reprinted the fewest times?
WB
Three Dirty Little Ducks for most if you have your way...lol
(The least is probably undoubtedly Black Wednesday for "eye-raising reasons"
Thomps2525
You are correct.....unless there are any stories reprinted fewer times than zero. According to the Inducks site, "Black Wednesday" appeared in Walt Disney's Comics & Stories #230 in 1959 in the United States and has never been reprinted in comic books here, although the tale did of course appear in a volume of the Carl Barks Library. The story has been reprinted in many countries but not in the United States, where for many years most people have frowned upon anyone who refers to native Americans as "Indians"---Columbus called our indigenous people "Indians" because he thought he was in the West Indies---and any school or league with a baseball team or football team called the Redskins, Apaches, Indians, Braves or some other such name is being pressured to change it. They insist the names are meant to honor the native Americans and are a source of pride, but certain rights groups insist such names are demeaning. And old movies and comic books which make-um all the Indians to talk-um with language like-um you see-um in this sentence, well, they are no longer "politically correct." Seeing how many reprints of Black Wednesday have appeared in other countries, I doubt those attitudes exist to any great extent outside of the United States.

Is there any work in Europe that would lend itself to being collected as part of a Christmas or Vacation Parade format? In other words, those potential titles would not have to be reprints or material that's been collected in modern publishing already.

Absolutely tons, none of it seen here before.

Good to know - I'm not terribly familiar with the totality of content outside of North America.

Keep up the great work, I've always appreciated your efforts.

Using the inducks database, I got this statictics over stories with first publication date 2014 (covers and illustrations not included):

Total stories: 1334
Total pages: 9754,3

Abril (Brasil) - 12 stories, 129 pages
Egmont (Denmark) - 296 stories, 2094,3 pages
Hachette (France) - 69 stories, 70 pages
Sanoma (Netherlands) - 389 stories, 1181,75 pages
Italy - 551 stories - 6220,5 pages
Others - 17 stories - 58,75 pages

There might be some errors and things missing, but it gives you a basic idea about how much new material is being published during a year.

IDW needs to launch a few more titles to keep up :)

This is a question for anyone affiliated with IDW. If these comics prove to be a success then could the page count be increased to 52 pages without drastically increasing the price? Personally I hope Mickey,Donald and $croogre become 52 pages like their first issue and WDC&S becomes 68 pages. WDC&S would need a price increase for that but I think the IDW line would manage since WDC&S, with its year long story and original numbering seems to be more geared to fans anyways whereas the other titles are for everyone.
