This email was just sent out to all who preordered during the Classics campaign:
Dear Don Rosa fans and friends,
I'm very happy to let you know that both DR Classics books are now being printed and will be shipped, just like planned, in October. Both Don and I are very proud of the result and we hope you are going to enjoy the classics. (I can't wait to get the first copies myself!)
Thank you so much again for having made this possible!
But ... we've got one more thing for you! (No, no iPhone 5.)
Today it is my great pleasure to announce the third and last book in the "Don Rosa Classics" series: "The Early (So-Called) Art of Don Rosa"
This book was planned even before we thought of PP and CK, but now we're finally getting around to doing it. This is going to be a must read for any Don Rosa fan (even for those who didn't buy the first two Classics because of the old Norwegian editions). We'll include ALL of Don's fanzine illustrations from "Rocket's Blast Comicollector" etc., all of which have NEVER been reprinted before in a collected format! You'll see a variety of comics from Don's childhood and youth, cartoons he did for his school and college papers, ads, covers, newsletter mastheads and MUCH more. This book will be about 300 pages (probably even more), a lot of them in color (we'll do ALL illustrations in color that Don originally did in color and still has a color copy of). And of course, this comes directly from Don's own archive, so all art will look absolutely stunning! When I first saw the material that is now going to be in this book, even I was excited (and I've known Don long enough to not get excited sooo easily), so I'm sure you might want to check this out, too!
http://www.indiegogo.com/donrosa-art?a=148782
We've once again started an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, and all contributions will be directly used for this book (it is somewhat more expensive to produce than the last ones since it has more color pages and more pages in general). And again, there are some exclusive limited goodies as well (e.g. postcards, a limited CK print etc.). For those of you missed out on one of the items from the last campaign, we're offering them again here (while stocks last) and they'll be shipped as soon as they arrive in October. The new artbook will be ready in early 2013, probably February (we haven't started working on it yet, so it takes some time). It will be the same size as PP and have the same cover design style, so it will be a perfect conclusion to this series. Samples of the contents are available on the "gallery" part of the campaign page and will be updated regularly.
Oh, and there are even two packages that include an ebook of the FULL Information Centers!! Read all of Don's old question and answer columns, all of which have NEVER been reprinted!
Shipping is, once again, included to all destinations! And this time, all contributions are even TWICE as valuable. Why is that?
This campaign is part of a competition run by Indiegogo and the German branch of Google for Entrepreneurs (that's why the currency is EUR this time, I couldn't change that). And every campaign that reaches its goal and gains a high enough "GoGo Factor" will get it's goal matched by Google (until they've given out all of their 150,000 EUR award money). Which means: If we reach the 10,000 goal, we'll get another 10,000 by Google!!!
In the preparation of the DR Classics, I've started a small startup comic book publishing company, and this award money would be *incredible* helpful for future projects (to cover license and printing costs etc.). So if you like what I'm doing with the Rosa Classics, PLEASE preorder the new book and spread the word with the link given above. ALL tweets and Facebook shares done on the campaign page help us get a higher "GoGo Factor", and if this campaign is just half as successful as the one for the first two books, I'm sure we'll rock this competition! Together we can make this happen! :)

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask, I'll be very happy to give you any information I can.
Thank you very much again for being a supporter of the Don Rosa Classics, it's deeply appreciated!
Best wishes,
Jano

What I find nice on that You-Tube page is the music concert by Mau and Bas Heijmans, and the Disney Comics panel discussion with Daan Jippes and Ulrich Schröder from Munich (2011). Too bad it was held in June. If held in any other month, Jan Gulbransson would have been there as well, as he lives there. I, too might have been there in July or August, during most years.

Gulbransson was actually there, but only for some signing sessions, not for participating in the discussion.

Jan should have been on the panel. He has a LOT more experience drawing Disney comics than does Ulie Schröder.

Well, I got my copy on both books. and even did an unboxing video. I think I MIGHT have been a bit excited that I was in them... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDMpvxzaE70
But if you don't want to watch that video, let me just say that the books look great. There are a couple of proofing errors, but these are beautifully produced. I'm going to suggest my comic shop talk to Jano about ordering some.
And for those of you who are big Rosa fans like me, believe me, you're going to be really surprised at the sheer amount of STUFF that in the Pertwillaby Papers that ended up in his Duck comics, and the way they play out differently in these stories!

Oh, by the way, there seems to be a misunderstanding ... "fandrawing" in Disney terms usually means "drawing for a fan", not "by a fan", that's why it says "fandrawing *for*..." in the byline. ;) Just noticed that while watching the video and the "it looks a lot like Rosa" came up. ^^ (It might be a bit confusing when you think of "fanfiction", which means the opposite, though.) But I'm very glad you enjoyed the books, thanks for the nice comments. :)

Fernando, I thought they were great, and I'm going to be very happy to hang up the print once I find a properly sized frame. :)
Jano, I guess I must not have looked carefully enough! But that's alright. It's a great drawing all the same, and you're welcome.

Is there any way someone in the US can still order these books?
