Also I was going to bring this up a while ago in another thread, but while I KIND OF miss the "And Stories" I can see the reasoning as to why its gone. Comics and Stories hasn't had any "stories" in it since the final Whitman issue - and let's be honest - did anyone ever read those things? I'd see them, glaze over it and be all "OMG WALL OF TEXT SKIP IT"

Though, one thing I do miss that Gladstone I used to do - if Donald was on the cover, we'd see a very small image of Mickey in the logo - either a Gottfredson head or Murry's Mickey walking or something. If Mickey was on the cover, it'd be vice versa with Donald. I think something like that should be implemented again. It was rather cute having a random Mickey as a part of the logo I think.

Personally, I think that the "and Stories" (started with the start of Disney Comics in 1940) referred to not only to text stories, but to complete stories in comic form, as opposed to one page comic gags. In 1940, most of the comic book was made up of reprint King Features newspaper gag pages (Sunday pages), and pages of consecutive daily gag strips. The only comic "stories" were the Gottfredson Mickey serialised stories. I think that comics referred to just the gags, and "stories" referred primarily to the Gottfredson serialised stories and secondarily to the text stories.

Well, it appears Gemstone has been unable to follow through again. They promised US issue #375 by now, and here we are in March and we're still waiting for the February issue #374 to come into being. Will they ever catch up? Stay tuned... I'm trying to be patient but it's rather annoying...

I wish I knew what the problem was... [sigh]

It's not a big deal Morequack. Don't get so antsy. :)
There was a delay in the printing of the book - coincidentally I believe it was either the same one that happened last time or the fallout from the last one, I don't really remember. *BUT* from what I understand, unlike last time Gemstone managed to catch this printing error fast enough (I suppose the whole fool me once, fool me twice analogy comes into play here) to take care of it before there was as significant a delay as the one we went through prior to the last couple of issues.
In truth, if you just toss out the previous scoop schedule altogether, the books are only maybe a week or 2 late tops given its the start of the month and a new schedule has been made in its wake. Plus, it's probably easier on the pocketbook for a lot of people who are on college budgets and don't like having to shell out for the books in such a frequent and rushed period of time even if they do like the product.
**cough** XD

That's a good theory WB. I got both the December issues and the January issues last month despite the fact that it was March and now I'm waiting for the February issues to show up. I hope they show up soon.

I've got the February issues sitting in front of me as I write this. Shipment was apparently delayed, but some shops will apparently get them this week??others next.

I hope you're right David. I would like to get my February issues soon and then my March issues and then my April issues and I don't care if they all come in the same month or not.

Diamond is shipping US and WDC&S the week of 16 Apr 08.

That's good to know Louis.

My comics shop get shipments every Wednesday. As of Thursday, April 24, they are still waiting for US #374 (the Feb. issue!). :(

Yech, sorry to hear that Morequack...my shop also gets them on Wednesdays and it came last week. 4/16. Keep an eye out!

My mistake, sorry! My comics shop had it probably last week. I've been on a jury panel on a very long case and could not inquire on a regular basis. There was a miscommunication regarding the issue and I was under the impression they did not have it. I picked up my 2 copies today.

Webbed Foot Wonderful! Kudos to you!

My shop received both books on the 16th, but they were sold out when I arrived at the shop (half an hour after they opened!) They reordered each book for me and I picked them up this past Wednesday. Apparently they've been getting just 2 copies of each in per issue. The good news is, the person in charge of ordering has rejected any notion of dropping the books from their order list, and she will be adding a couple more per order to accommodate me and still have a shelf copy an hour later. :)
Mcduck_Enterprises
That is exactly why I just submitted for a subscription. I was dang tired of getting across town to see if there was still a copy left...in the date of release....it is the only store in Columbus, Ohio that still orders Gemstone and there is just not enough to go around sometimes. This troubleshoots me having to drive to get it, ask a clerk to order one or ripping a kid or someone form getting an issue locally. I will still support the shop in other purchases but I do not want to miss a Scrooge.
