Yeah, I dimly remember he said something to that effect some years ago. Haven't got a quote at hand, though.
Lars Jensen
He's said that several times, yeah.

Hey Lars, I'm currently translating your "Medal Fatigue" story for the German weekly! Quite funny stuff with those blue-breasted squirrels and bell-headed woodpeckers.
Lars Jensen
Thanks, Gerd. I wrote my first version of that story in 1998 and for various reasons never found the right time to send it in to Egmont, so it's nice to see it's finally coming out.
And no, I have no idea what a speckled leafmouse is. :)
Gerd Syllwasschy
Your leafmouse gave me the opportunity to include a nice pun: "Blattmaus" (= leafmouse, literally translated) sounds similar to "Blattlaus" (= greenfly). :)

Any connection there with Rosa's retina?

Yes, in the beginning of my story Donald *sees* some medals and gets annoyed. Some of the medals might have been coloured terra rosa.

Other than that, there's no obvious connection to Don Rosa's retina.

Bad news from Don Rosa himself:

Let's hope that somehow his eye problem is solved and his eyesight restored to normal.
Roger North
I agree with you there Lars.

Sounds like Don's keeping a stiff upper lip. I'd be a depressed wreck.

Yes, sad news - though it seems that his spirit is high. Sorry to say it, but we just have to see the facts...

Don's own joking reminds me of two danish comedians playing Optician and patient; the Optician looking at the patient, who's wearing big, round glasses, which makes his eyes enourmous.

The Doctor says: "You're having a construction failour on your left eye!"

The patient - seeing the doctors nose in fisheye-view, totally distorted - says: "You shouldn't be talking about construction failours !!!"

Keep up the good spirit, Don!!

Which reminds me of the guy who saw someone wearing such glasses.
He said: "you must have very good eyes, to be able to look through those glasses!"
