Malcolm McDuck might possibly have a British accent, or at least a softer Scottish brogue than

I think Lea Thompson should do the voices of Scrooge's mother and sisters. She does do a good scottish accent. Cloris Leachman can do the voice of Grandma Duck and June Foray can do the voices of Goldie and Miss Quackfaster.

You mean June Foray's still alive?? Thank God for that, though. I'm sure she'd do a good job. I can picture Cloris Leachman alright, but I don't think I've heard Lea Thompson before. I'll look her up on

Heh, great thread. I'd actually made an entire cast list for a Lo$ movie back in high school. I can't recall most of it, but I do remember having Shirley Manson (singer from Garbage) as Hortense McDuck, and James Doohan (Star Trek's Scotty) as Fergus McDuck.
I think Billy Connolly would be great as Pothole too.
As for Scrooge, I've always adored Alan Young's performance... although I think Ewan McGregor might be an interesting choice for the younger Scrooge.

Ewan McGregor the guy who played Obi Wan Kenobi from the Star Wars prequel trilogy? Yeah I can imagine him doing the voice of the younger Scrooge.

I didn't know that June Foray was still alive. She's certainly old enough to be convincing as an 80-year-old Goldie. Of course, she was good enough to mimic such a voice even when she was quite young.

Well, I think that they should remove the quacking sound from the ducks, so one could understand all the magnificent lines written for them to say (Donald's speeches in these old days were not very important, they were like silent-movies).
I really like Alan Youngs rendering of Scrooge, although I did dislike most of the ducktales episodes, with a few exceptions (Barks/Rosa-stories are made for all ages, most ducktales shows were made for small kids).
One Scot that i personally think could play any character, (Scrooge, Fergus, Quackley, you name them) is Ford Kiernan. Some of you might know him from the Scottish Sitcom Still Game where he plays the round-headed Jack Jarvis. Has anyone else got their point-of-view regarding this man?
I really like Alan Youngs rendering of Scrooge, although I did dislike most of the ducktales episodes, with a few exceptions (Barks/Rosa-stories are made for all ages, most ducktales shows were made for small kids).

I don't think you should mess with Donald's voice. He is only going to be in the last part of the movie anyway.

I really miss Clarence Nash, but Tony Anselmo does a good job on Donald. Funny that he doesn't say anything in his scenes as a little kid---just kicks Scrooge's butt and runs off giving him a razzberry! :)
