Vicar was one of the top artists working for Donald Duck. Period. I'm glad I had a chance to meet him twice. Great warm gentleman he was. I read his stories in the 1970's, 80's, 90's 00's. What a career!

RIP, Vicar. He was never my favourite Disney artist, but I did grew up on his stories. I am relatively young to be brought up on Barks' stuff. I do adore Barks, but people like Vicar will always have a special place in my heart.
I started collecting (and reading) Disney comics in early 1990's when these became available in Russia (after the collapse of USSR). Also had some Polish issues of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck (plus a couple of pocket books from Poland). ANd at that time most editions were dominated by stories from Daniel Branca, Tino Hernandes, Bancells, Ceballos and, naturally, Vicar.
