THAT IS TOO COOL. I will be sure to drop in and identify myself. Freebies aside, I am going to buy some of those prints. Great!
GeoX
Whoa...me too. Freebies or not, I definitely want to provide some economic support.

Don asked me to let anyone that I know who may be interested that he'll be in Kansas City this weekend at the Planet Comicon. Interested?

I wish Mr. Rosa would come to some of the conventions near me.
Once I e-mailed him, and to date he hasn't answered.

Oh boy, it would be wonderful to meet Don Rosa in an opportunitty like this. It´s a shame that, living in Brazil, it´s almost impossible for me to meet him.
I'll be in the USA in next June, but so far I haven´t heard of any convention he´ll be taking part around that. I'll keep looking, but I don't have much hope. I wonder if, beeing so far way, is there any other way for me to get one of this prints or any other material signed by him. Gess I'll try to find his e-mail and contact him.
Anyway, good luck to you guys who can make it!

In other words, Norway is the closest. Still, Google Maps shows that this would take me 20 hours without stopping to get there by car, over 1500 km. Well, that's still better than walking wchich would take me 1900 km, swim across the Channel, the North Sea, and from Denmark to Sweden. Exactly 5 days without stopping. So I might be just in time when I start off at, let's say, at the end of my summer vacation? Then again, Berlin would go faster. And less swimming. :)

It's healthy to swim...
:)

...and you can rest the night over by me - I live about 8 km from Sweden. But taking the current in consideration, about 19 km!

Don't take it personally. Don stopped being able to respond to every email he gets from fans quite some time ago. Rest assured he would if he could, but there just aren't enough hours in the day anymore. :)

I'll be the guy in Dayton wearing a blue Three Caballeros shirt. If you run into me, say Hello!

I just got back from Gem City Comic Con in Dayton Ohio and was very pleased to meet and talk with Mr. Rosa as well as meet another forum member, Rodney, whilst waiting in line. Mr. Rosa was extremly gracious and took time to speak with and sign for everyone there. His prints are so fantastic. There are so many to choose: from his classic works of well known covers such as Hearts of the Yukon, to his whimsical parodies of famous superhero covers...I had to stop myself at 4. Don was also very kind to complete a sketch of a "greedy Scrooge" for me. It only took us an hour to drive to the con, but it was worth hours to meet one of the most inspirational duck artists out there. His booth was far cooler than anyone elses there and his demeanor makes any fan smile. It was a great day.

I met Rodney, but I seem to have missed you, alas. But yeah, it was fantastic. Worth driving three and a half hours for. Dude was endlessly amiable, and answered all of my fanboyish questions. Like you, I had to limit myself to a mere four prints for the price of three (duck family album, Scrooge and Goldie, "Fantastic Inventions" with giant helper, and winter fun) but they were all totally sweet. He did me a nice sketch of Flintheart and a COMPLETELY FLIPPIN' FANTASTIC one of Magica. Also, I was able to pick up a handful of Disney comics on my wishlist for a buck each. Definitely a positive experience.

Yeah GeoX, you were a couple of people ahead of me the second time I was in line for a sketch. I saw you but didn't get a chance to introduce myself after you got your stuff. I got the US Batman and DD Robin print, the Scrooge in front of artifacts and dime pedestal, Magica zapping Scrooge and Donald and the Daisy and Donald one for my fiance. I only picked up a Donald #28 and Uncle Scrooge #60 (upgrade for my run,) at the tables....I didn't spend too much but accomplished all I wanted to at this convention....I'll catch you at the next one! Great times.
Rodney
I have to echo the above. Had a great morning and really enjoyed meeting you guys. Don was really wonderful, as kind as you can ask for at these sorts of things. Didn't get to dig through the crates looking for back issues, and it sounds like I should've, but still, a completely worthwhile experience.
