My favorite is definitely Monster Allergy from Italy, a great and very funny series with absolutely amazing artwork. I've just started reading a new Italian series called Lys, which was created by Antonello Dalena, who also worked for Disney Italia and Monster Allergy.
It's also got very great artwork and is very promising. Unfortunately, as I don't speak Italian and the comic isn't published here in Germany, I have to get the albums from France.

I like Iznogoud, Marsupilami, Asterix, and Lucky Luke, too.

Ramapith (Ol' Buddy, Ol' Pal): Who or what is "Beano"? And, I wonder why in my 59 years in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia, I haven't run across it?

Or, maybe I have, and because of unusual circumstances, it didn't make a big impression upon me? In any case, I'd like to know more about it, and in which publications it was issued. Our tastes are not so very different in most areas. So, I suspect that I might like it.

Ramapith will be able to give you a more complete answer, but in the meantime, I can tell you Beano is a British comic. I read that years ago in England-- about 20 years ago, actually.

I have found this site, which has samples of the various strips.
Odd: the lead (?) character is named Dennis the Menace, though he is definitely not Hank Ketcham's. Intriguing.

Here are Don Markstein's entries for each character:
Hank Ketcham's Dennis the Menace
David Law's Dennis the Menace

I barely know Ketcham's work, but I was not too fond of the British character.

Mexican Fan-Most of those comics are unknown to me. I am especially curious about Mafalda and Condorito. I am a fan of "funny animal" comics. Are those two strips in the "funny animal", funny human" or realistic comic genre? Is it possible for you to post scans of one page of each?
