I read also Tintin (in German) and Peanuts (in English).
WB
Sonic the Hedgehog (of which I do artwork for)
Looney Tunes if the story tickles my fancy
One Piece because I like the artwork
Scott Pilgrim is the only indie series I read now that Bone is gone. :(

Superhero books I just can't get into nowadays - especially since they're all in a GRIMDARK phase right now.

Only some of them. If you want a non-dark kick-ass intelligent superhero comic with multi-layered characters and intricate storylines, read Manhunter from DC Comics or Buffy the Vampire Slayer from Dark Horse Comics. If you want superhero fun, read Blue Beetle or Ambush Bug, also from DC Comics. And Legion of Super-Heroes (again: from DC) is always good. Even when it isn't. (Yes, I'm a Legion fan.)

I don't blame you for not liking the superhero comics WB. They do tend to have rather disturbing storylines which is why I don't read them.

Regarding superheroes, the "grimdark" phase has been going for a long time, hasn't it? If you want something else, I suggest Alan Moore's Tom Strong (mentioned on the preceding page), which was obviously Moore's answer to his own "dark" take on superheroes.
Tom Strong is somewhat like Superman in that he is the embodiment of the wholesome, pure, gentle (as in "gentleman") hero.

How about the stories?
I saw a few episodes of the animated series a while ago, and loved what I saw of this whole universe the author imagined.
