In the comics I like seeing all sorts of coins in different colors. That's more realistic (I believe in my comic characters) and a funny running gag. In Carl's money bin paintings, however, I enjoy seeing lots of gold coins. It gives warmth, is so impressive and shows how super rich Uncle Scrooge is. The paintings were done later after the stories so perhaps by then Uncle Scrooge had converted a lot of his money to gold to allow for inflation and the weakening dollar.

Another Don Rosa convention report I stumbled across, this time covering a panel he did...
http://www.kylesgeekyblog.com/springcon-12-the-man-from-d-u-c-k-don-rosa/
This elaborates on his anti-Boom! sentiment (and explains the sign he had posted at his table)...
Quote:Rosa was disparaging of publisher Boom! Studios, calling them "miserable, stinky people," explaining that they reprinted a version of "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" that included his script, name and likeness with his permission, but started reprinting various Scrooge and Donald anthologies, including his work, which used his name and likeness without his permission (according to a post on his Facebook fan page from March ??11, he also receives no royalties from the use of his likeness). Rosa considered taking legal action, but decided not to when Boom! lost the Disney license. He now places on a sign on his table at conventions stating that he doesn??t sign any reprints of his work by Boom! Studios.

...just a bit...
Don is actually as charismatic, sympathathic and funny as you expect him to be. He broth a lot of chilli papers with him and ask fans to take as much they like.
However the best part was to chat with him as he was making the drawing and siging my copies of Polish edition of "Life and times". It was great to hear from him that "The Three Caballeros ride agian" is among favorite stories he made (which is a personal favoirte of my) and when I joked "This is the best day of my life... ad least that's what I told my whife and kids this morning" he laugh out loud and reply "I hope your'e not planing to go back home..." :)
He also mentioned he would love to come to Poland wich is a terrific message for me and my friends...
SADLY there is a sad side to this story :(
You see out group travel entire day from Poland to Berlin (I'm from Warsaw and some others are from Kielce which is on the other side of Poland - very, very far) In the line for mr. Rosa there where three firends infronr of me and five behind me... And sadly Don Rosa's menager or whoever the guy was poin at me and said "You will be the last one to get the picture". It was a very akward situation. We told were a group and we told we all travel from Poland but he said "Sorry, thats the rule, only first 12 people get the drawing". My friend try to argue but the guy told him "Ok, If you tell the last 10 people in line they can't get an autograph you can have the drawing"... What a jerk!
I'm happy I got a drawing but I'm very sad about my five friends who didn't. Still they good to meet Don and get their books signed and he took a photo with all of us (which I publish here as soon my friend will sent it to me) Another sad side to the story one of my friends lost his copies of Uncle Scrooge comics on the way to Berlin :(
Where also angry at the guy who run the comic book store where the Don Rosa meeting took place. Beafore the meeting he told people that only the people who but things beyond 10 Euros and show recive will get the picture... that turn out to be not true as Rosa only gave pircutre to first 12 people in line so the guy from the shop basically lie to eveybody... Not cool :(
Still I'm happy I was lucky to meet Don Rosa, get the picture and buy a kick-ass Mickey Mouse figurine in the shop (this is the classic black and white erra Mickey as I like him) I shall frame Jose I got from Don and hang him on my wall next to pictures I got from Cèsar Ferioli (Gladstone Gander) two from Kari Korhonen (Donald, Magica De Spell) and Gianluca Panniello (Elyon) I also have a drawing by Witold Giersz (a Polish artis) but that's non-Disney example.. ;)

Production took longer than expected and it's supposed to come out within the next months. So, as of now, it's only available for preorder.

Egomania? :P
Seriously - yhe I didn't put much thought into this since I paste the photos seconds after I got them so If it bothers you I can remove one photos...
BTW (1) -> Check out the basket of chili pappers in the backgrond Don Rosa bring as a treat for his fans. Yummy but hot-hot-hot... O_o
BTW (2) -> Some time I wrote On my blog about the event (yhe it's in Polish) and I did a countdown list of my personal "top 12 favorite Don Rosa stories" (the titles are in English) : http://panmilus.blogspot.com/2012/10/top-12-komiksow-dona-rosy.html Just some little trivia about my personal tastes ;) Note that I stated I'm not including the LO$ series since it to obviously would come out on top plus it's hard to judge it as 12 indyvidual stories since I think about the 12 chapters as one story...

Did Rosa actually draw Hortense having wet herself?
