I started to translate litterally the first about 20 pages. I'll do the same with the whole story and then I will chose the right words and sentences to make the ducks talk. I'd like to insert some citations to stories known and to USA translations of Italian ones.

I think it will be very nice, but, at the moment, I ain't so much time for this project and I have to procrastinate the deadline.

Aw it's no problem. :)

Citations sound like a good idea since there may be references to stories or characters that aren't so common here in North America like in Italy. So long as they don't clutter up the pages they would be a welcome addition. Also don't worry about your progress so far, since this story is 40 pages (according to the I.N.D.U.C.K.S) so that's about half of the story already.

Anyway, best of luck on the rest of the project. :D

So... Can I find this story in english translation anywhere? ;)

I was always superio courious about it as it has the very first (and only) meeting betwen Goldie and Brigitta

What I've heard is that when the Normans conquered England, the Saxons had problems pronoucing some of the Norman names, which started with the letter "R". And thus, Richard became "Dick" or "Dicky", Robert became "Bob" or "Bobby", etc.

But to be more on topic, I'm intrigued by this Paperetta character, even though I've only read one story with her ("Around the world on 80 bucks"). Someone on the BCDB (Big Cartoon Database) forum once swore, that she was Scrooge's granddaughter, which also supposedly was common knowledge in Italy. People here totally rejected that idea though.

Scrooge already has a hippie (well, okay, beatnik) relative: Fethry. Playing them off against each other would be funny, but whole beatnik aspect is played down because it ages the stories so much.

Lots of people call ME Grandad. And they are NOT my grandchildren. It is a term of respect for an old man (or can be used in a derogatory way (implying that the old man has passed his time and is behind the times (not "with it" anymore). Perhaps she was just referring to him as an old man?
