The German publisher of the weeklies and albums is the same ,Ehapa,
which is part of Egmont. But the responsible editorial staffs are
different for newsstand publications (e.g. Micky Maus weeklies, Donald
Duck Sonderhefte, the pocketbooks like Lustige Taschenbuecher and the
cheaper softcover albums like Die besten Geschichten of Donald Duck) and
bookstore publications (e.g. Don Rosa series, German CBL series, Donald
Duck newspaper strip series in hardcover).
Some albums are published bei Delphin which is part of Ehapa and the
comic books "Ich,Micky" and so on ("Io Topolino" a.o.) were published by
Bertelsmann, later by Ehapa and Horizont.

The Aristocats are on the shelf in Germany since March 1995 and still
available.

The Volumes IV and V are on the shelf by now. Volume VI is anounced for
September 1995. But until now every part of the LoS series was first
published in Micky Maus and the last parts are still to publish. Therfore
I don't know if Ehapa will hold on to this releasing date.
But finally the Germans will get to read the whole Life of Scrooge
series, too.

DON, a few questions:

A while ago you said you worked with Byron (Erickson) on extra
pages for Lo$ chapter 12. I assume this means the extra pages are done
for Egmont, and not for Gladstone.
Will the extra pages also be reprinted in Germany, in September? Or in
Holland, in December? Did the various editors get a note that
there was an extension in the making?

Also, your story "Hearts of the Yukon" carried a D-code, indicating
it was made for Egmont. D95044A. The 'A' suggests there is also a 'B'
version. Did you make a 3-part version for Europe as well?

As far as I know, you made the following not yet published stories:

"An Eye for Detail" (is this a Scrooge story?)
"The Lost Charts of Columbus" (US)
"The Incredible Shrinking Tycoon" (US)
"Knighttime" (US)
"The Richest Duck in the World" (extension of Lo$ 12)
one-pager for German magazine "Tempo"

Hi!

I bought some Disney Marvel Comics today. I had never seen them before,
but they look quite impressive. When I compare these Marvel Comics
with the new layout of the Gladstone comics (with the recycled paper),
I like the Marvels better. Ofcourse the Gladstones are the ones,
which have THE stories everyone wants, like Rosa and Barks. But
the covers of the Marvel comics are very bright! Fortunately,
it's not the cover that counts. It's the -stories- that are
important. In that view, I prefere the Gladstones!

My view:
I think, Marvel is a much larger company. They have all these X-Men
and Spiderman comics. That way, they can afford to have these good-
looking covers. Or are these Marvel comics more popular in the States?
Compared to the ones from Gladstone. Is that true?

What's with this 'Disney Comic Hits!'? Is it a replacement of 'Beauty
and the Beast', 'Disney Afternoon', 'Little Mermaid' and 'Aladdin'? Or
is it a news series.

I'm sorry! I didn't know that. You're right about the "j" and "y", I
do pronounce them the same in English. When I use them in _words_ that
is! As seperate letters, I always pronounce the "j" like "jay" (like
Jay Leno) and the "y" like "why".

No. Minsk and Student are two machines, connected to each other in the
same network. Something like two people living in the same house. As far
as I know, there's no machine named "tomato" in Per's network.

Funny you say that. It's exactly the same thing with "Hubschrauber" in
German. "Hubschrauber" sounds so different from "huebsch Rauber" (the "ue"
being a u with an umlaut) that only a foreigner would mix them up. 8-)

(There I go. Just yesterday I wrote that this list was about Disney and
comics, and here is my second letter not related to Disney comics at all...)
