asking me about it!

Digest subscribers, note that there are two forms of digest
subscription. Mime digests and "plain" digests. You have all
received "plain" digests. You can try to switch that if you wish.

Everyone, note that subscribers can decide for themselves if their
address should be public now. Since the list of subscribers hasn't
been public before I've made every existing subscriber hidden, but you
can change that if you want.

For all these changes, it's easiest to wait for that monthly reminder

Thanks for that info Jenny (do you have some US issues as well as the
.au ones?) ,unfortunately I've never read the story "No such Varmint"
,so can't comment on it.
It sounds to me like Dangerous Disguise was censored for political
reasons ,the .au government at the time not wanting to install any lack
of confidence in the rail system. I would love to see the missing panels
if someone has the time to scan them for me.

I think we were something like 20--25 people there. The programme
included some information about current events, an auction of various
more or less Donaldistic stuff purged from NAFS(k)'s unmanageable
heaps of stuff, and a traditional quiz in which the "odd" team lost to
the "even" team as usual. After that we left the meeting place for
some food, before we went for a joint visit to Disney's _Tarzan_.

As for the demography, several ages were represented, but it is true
that the median age of the members of NAFS(k) goes up almost one year
each year. (But the most striking demographical fact about who goes
to the meetings is rather that there are no or almost no women at
NAFS(k) meetings.)

In its next issue KOMIX will celebrate the (false) new millennium with a
double, 132-page issue, featuring a Barks Xmas ten-pager ("Xmas in a
Submarine"), plus Rosa's "A Little Something Special" and Scarpa's "The
Lentils from Babylon" in a wrap-around cover by W. van Horn (from an old,
early '90s Disney Comics issue).

Hi,

I recently contacted a person called Julio Andrade who held a very
interesting position for Ediciones Abril during many years in Brazil.

According to his own words:

"I worked very close to the Creative Dept. Actually, my first job was
as a comic writer, then I was promoted to Creative Editor and ended up as
the Editorial Director.

I will be more than happy to answer any questions that you might have."

As I am sure we have on the list some members that are very interested in
the history of Disney comics in Brazil, I would like to invite them to ask
all the questions they might have to Julio on the list and I will relay his
answers.
