Here is something else though: I was contacted a month ago by Raptus
Comics Festival in Bergen, Norway who was interested in inviting a "Duck
Lady" as they put it--and the suggested artist was Laura Bozzano, which
sounds like an interesting choice.

Does anyone know of this event and when it will be held?

Something I would be very interested in and would even be willing to
PAY MONEY for would be a comprehensive bibliography/footnote reference
guide correlating facts and details in Rosa stories, together with the
Barks story and reference it is derived from. Ideally, what I want is a
complete deatabase listing of information from every Barks written story
cataloguing the Barks universe, and a subset of those items extracted by
Rosa for inclusion in his universe. One might describe it as a Venn
diagram, composed of two circles, one encompassing the Barks canon,
another composed of the Rosa canon, and where the two circles overlap we
have the data Rosa has extracted from the Barks stories.
If one was able to document ten stories a day, and if there are 5000
Barks written stories, it might take a year and a half to do just Barks.
500 days.

In the early 90's DD in Mathmagic land was issued on video as part of the
Disney Mini-Classics series. I don't think that you can buy them
anymore, but I've seen it at most video stores for rent.

Surprisingly enough, both URLs worked.

I rather enjoyed the mathematical gag in that scan. It reminded me of
"Computer Science Sesame Street", a gag where the Sesame Street characters
are used to illustrate the notion of undecidability. A copy of that gag

Hi,

I've been reading these Italian Disney pocket stories a lot. On this
list I've seen a lot of discussions of Italian artists e.g. Cavazano,
whom i don't know who he is.

I know who Scarpa is and I remember that I thought that he was good
already when I was a kid. Though at that time I didn't know his name.

To be frank, I don't like most of the Italian artists, but some of them
are good or even better.

I wonder if there is somewhere on the web were it's possible to see
scans of Italian artists together with their names, so I can identify
who the good artists are.

Since you write from a .se domain I assume you can speak Swedish... if so
you could get copies of Nafs(k) uriren 30 (out), 31 (out RSN) and 32 (to
appear) which has a long article from yours truly on Italian Disney
authors, with lots of pictures. The same article, but without the pictures,

You mean they broke into your house when you were on hols? And is this all
they stole? (I wonder why they took it, since it's quite a specialistic
thing, and why they didn't take the whole lot if that was their interest!
Maybe they were stealing on commission... if so I'd watch out for a comeback!)

Well, in the States I've seen several times some of the triplets on offer,
but while everybody has I and II and (rarely) a few others, I can't recall
ever seeing those two. I wonder why they're not all at the same price.
Maybe they were printed in different quantities? Even Gladstone themselves,
who used to offer them (at a much higher price than the original
~$100/triplet -- some sets were $500/triplet and beyond, IIRC), had very
different prices for the various triplets in the set.

I, too, have an incomplete CBL (bought 2nd hand -- I think I have about 3/4
of the volumes, not even in complete triplets), and never managed to
complete it yet (I doubt that I ever will be able to -- I'll probably have
to end up re-buying the whole thing, which is somewhat annoying given that
I already have at least 2 more complete reprints of Barks, plus countless
partial ones). But I found that $3000 for the entire thing (as opposed to
~$1000 when it came out) was a bit much.

Anyway if you "only" have 2 triplets missing I'd still check whether
Gladstone still sells their leftover ones...

My sympathies... I hope they didn't steal tons more stuff beyond the Disney
things you're mentioning here... But anyway, having one's house violated is
always a terrible experience, regardless of what they actually take!

I bought a Scrooge bean bag doll at my local Disney store tonight. Actually,
it's Scrooge as depicted in Mickey's Christmas Carol. They also had Mickey
as Bob Cratchett and Goofy as Jacob Marley, but I only bought Scrooge. It's
the first Scrooge item I've ever seen in a Disney store.
