Hi! Sorry to be so much off-topic, but someone around here are able to trade
with me the Alessandro Barbucci's, Barbara Canepa's Sky Dool graphic novels?
I can send brazilian Disney Comics in return, as usual. I'm not sure in what
countries this masterpiece is avaiable, so it's because of it I didn't ask
anyone on private.

Justo to not be so much off-topic:
Besides "Witch", what others Disney projects Barbara Canepa managed to work
with? I knew she cames from the "Accademia Disney"...she's also an drawer?
I think she's an wonderful colorist! Any more "Bio" info about her?

Yeah, that's true! I've seen a copy of it at a second-hand sales event a few weeks ago. It's a copy
of Beste Verhalen 7 (BV 7), with all the lettering changed to the dialect form. My first impression
of it made me think it was from South Africa! :-) (For those of you living in Limburg, please don't
be offended...) If I had known you never saw it Harry I would've bought it...

In the Scandinavian edition, they contained the text "The Inheritage from
Barks" (correct me anyone with better English than me!), where the most
famous writers and drawers of today wrote stories about the Barks Characters
in 2001 to show that Barks' creations still live strong after Barks' 100th
birthday.

If I remember this right:
William Van Horn made a story about Gyro Gearloose.
César Ferioli Pelaez made a story about Gladstone Gander.
Kari Korhonen made a story about the Junior Woodchucks.
Don Rosa made a story about the Beagle Boys and the Money Bin.
Victor Arriagada Rios (Vicar) drew a story about Flintheart Glomgold.
Romano Scarpa made a story about Scrooge McDuck.
Ignasi Calvet Estéban drew a story about April, May and June.
Marco Rota drew a story about Little Helper.
Daan Jippes made a story about neighbor J. Jones.
Daniel Branca drew a story about Magica de Spell.

I think that was all?

Anyhow, all of these stories had in the splash panel a circular frame with a
picture of the "character", and under that a scroll containing the text "The
inheritage from Barks".

However, since Don Rosa's story was about TWO Barks characters - the Beagle
Boys AND the Money Bin - they mixed it up in Norway, and filled one of the
scrolls (the one in the right) with the text "Script and drawings: Don Rosa"
(with the Don Rosa signature of course, which I do get a feeling that they
use as often as they can). However, originally both these scrolls contained
a text something like "The inheritage of Barks" - just like 9 other scrolls
in 9 other stories.

Was that a good enough answer?

Actually, I think this is very on topic. As I understand it, the beginning
sequence of a barcode describes the country or state of origin of the
product. Maybe we need to invent a code sequence for Calisota?

Did I say 3? I meant to say 9. Page 9, panel 3. Where HD&L wonder about
having normal uncles.

I didn't notice that yet! I saw some resemblances (and I actually expected a
bus driving by with the word "Gadducci" on it), but it didn't occur to me
that the plot would be a direct match. You mean page by page? I'll compare
the two stories tonight.

I think I was one of the readers who said that I disliked that story very
much (though I didn't use the words you use). I still don't see how loads of
references to the original story change the fact that your sequel is just a
bunch of gags based on the original story, and trying to improve the
original.
Aw well, we've discussed that before.

I think Donald and Scrooge could have been better drawn. And the whole cover
looks too much like a super hero comic cover, maybe. "Too American" indeed
(if one can say that about Disney comics work...).

Hm. That's a difficult one. Maybe I can answer that after the Dutch used the
story and drew a cover for it. At least I hope that's what they'll do.

Hi everyone. I don't mean to rant, but this is something every Duck fan should know about. I bid on a signed Carl Barks poster and was defrauded by the seller (I got the poster, but not with Carl's signature). I thought I should let any other possible buyers know about this ebay vendor. Here is the item I bid on:

I apologize for the confusion. We only had one of the signed posters and several unsigned ones. When it was relisted, the title should have been changed but was not 'the body of the listing was changed to remove the signed by Carl Barks part, but unfortunately we did not catch the mistake in time prior to your auction. Any, we would never get a signed Barks anything for onlyh $15.00! If you wish you can return the poster for a full refund, we have other customers that will purchase it, or you can keep it for your bid price. Please let us know either way. I apologize for any inconvenience, we are very above board with our merchandise and stand behind everything we sell, so a refund is no problem if you are son inclined.

Your 800 number that is listed on your Ebay store site is no longer in service. The title and photo cleared showed and stated that the item was signed by Carl Barks. I am aware of the value of Mr. Barks signature and therefore bid on the item because of it's inexpensive price. I do not want a refund, I want the item I bid on and won and only under that circumstance would I return the unsigned poster I currently have recived. To not provide that item is to defraud the buyer. Since you have stated that that is not an option, I have no choice but to leave a negative feed back. The item's price is not high enough to file a complaint with Ebay (fraudulent items have to have a price of 25 dollars or higher before shipping) so I cannot take that route. Intentional or not is subjective, the black and white legal truth is that you have misrepresented your item on Ebay. Ignorance on the part of the seller is not the concern of the buyer and that ignorance cannot be proven therefore it can only be taken as intentional. I will not be interested in your other items and I will not be bidding on any of your items, ever. I will also be posting your letter as well as your items Ebay posting on my Disney and Barks mailing lists as well as this letter I'm writing now. I have collected Carl Barks item for years and finally (at the behest of friends and fellow collectors) joined Ebay, now all of my reasons for never joining before have been confirmed. If this was simple ignorance please remember this event on your future postings because if this was valued just a little bit higher, you would have been reported for fraud and your Ebay account may have been jeopardized.
