Hello, everyone! I am new to the forum but am glad to be able to share my interest and love for Disney comics. I have been collecting Disney books for roughly 30 years and my first "Duck" books were some of the hard to find Whitman pre-pack books that were sold many years ago. My first memorable Uncle Scrooge story that I read as a young man was the "The Fabulous Philosopher's Stone" adventure that was reprinted by Whitman (U.S. 132). I have only had one opportunity to meet Don Rosa at a convention in the midwest a couple of years ago. There were lines and lines of folks ready to see the Jim Lee but Mr. Rosa had only a couple of fans greet him during the time I met him. This, in many ways, broke my heart for the literacy of our culture. I am saddened by the lack of interest that there appears to be for Disney books in today's "death" climate in comics. Anyways, I will continue to support the Ducks and am hopeful that we will soon see the release of the Carl Barks Library and Don Rosa Library once again and have gladly sent my email to Gemstone requesting a third monthly series. I will keep my fingers crossed!

Hi Robb_K, I see you write stories for the Dutch and Danish Disney Comics. What about the German? And do they buy the same stories, or do they want something different?

Ehapa, the German Disney Comics publisher is a subsidiary company of Danish Egmont. Ehapa doesn't really have a regular production. They only pay for a few special projects (like "Onkel Dagoberts Schatzruhe", "Das Große Welt von Entenhausen", and production of all of those (except for some of their own comic book covers), is handled from Copenhagen (by Danish Disney). So, when Jan Gulbransson and I worked with Ehapa on The German "Jan Gulbransson Hall of Fame" book, those productions are generally handled from Copenhagen. It's only if he, or Ulrich Schröder, or someone else draws special covers for some of their own comic books, that Ehapa might deal directly with an artist. Their regular stories and many covers come directly from Danish production.

I had a strong feeling that Zacharias Zorngiebel wasn't your real name. I wouldn't expect to meet anyone with the family name Bolderbast, either!
Wilkommen! I don't really enjoy reading Madame Mim, Little Hiawatha and Chip and Dale much, either.
I pass through The Ruhrgebiet twice every year, so, maybe our paths will cross some time.
