You can find much info about William Van Horn and his stories here.
A good start is Uncle Scrooge Adventures in Color. They are four, but not in hardcover.
I don't know any hardcover books in English.
Don Rosa Is The Best
I think Van Horn is not a good creator. His stories are dull and uninspired.

My, what an exciting and inspired comment.

Personally, on some level, I actually like Van Horn's work better than Rosa's. Don't get me wrong, Rosa is the modern master of the epic story. However, there's a certain pessimism, a certain anger to his work that doesn't always sit well with me.
Van Horn's work, obviously much more comedy driven, has a certain lighthearted vibe that brings a smile to my face.
In many ways, it's almost unfair to compare the two because they really are very different types of stories and storytellers. I just find that if I want to feel uplifted by a story, I lean towards Van Horn.

I get what you're saying.

Honestly, I think Rosa and Van Horn are sort of split descendants of Barks. They've both done short gag stories and long adventures, like Barks, but I think Rosa mastered the adventures and Van Horn the gag stories.

So they're completely different and yet both really good.

I'm also a fan of Van Horn's art- its very different and original and yet retains enough of that Barks feel to appeal to me.

Van Horn has his ups and downs, and certainly he is at this point well past his prime, but at his best, he is neither dull nor uninspired. He may not be to your taste--he has certain tics that I'm not hugely enamored of myself--but there's probably no need to be a dick about it. Probably won't happen, given his relative obscurity, but I'd sure love to see Fantagraphics having a go at him as with Barks and Gottfredson and now Rosa.

Indeed. And I'm sure Don Rosa would be super-impressed to see someone who's supposedly a fan making such disparaging remarks about another creator with his name attached to the user account as well. Other Rosa fans certainly don't need the rep either.

Criticize all you want, but c'mon. This isn't bloody Youtube. Make an informed statement if you're going to tear someone's work down.

No reason for criticizing William Van Horn here. He is one of the best of the still active Disney Comics creators. I don??t know what don rosa is the best??s opinion about Mr. Van Horn is based on, but one thing that comes to mind though, is Van Horns involvement with Carl Barks Studio back in the 1990s when he drew Horsing Around with History. This apparently made some people believe that Barks preferred Van Horn before Don Rosa. Some people even started to believe that Barks didn??t accept Don Rosa??s style or the way he most of his stories are based on Barks?? version of the Duckburg-universe. Maybe don rosa is the best??s statement is a reaction against such negative or skeptical opinions about the relationship between Barks and Rosa? If so, this is just yet another echo of the quarrels during "the dark years" (1993??1998).

For those not familiar with those events in the 1990??s : ??The dark years" is an often used description of the Carl Barks Studio years. When his wife Garé died I 1993, Barks got two managers to look after his businesses via the Carl Barks Studio. But those managers actually kept the old man, Carl Barks, away from his friends and acquaintants including Don Rosa. Before this, Rosa and Barks had a friendly dialogue discussing Rosa??s projects like the "Donald Duck Family Tree" ?? Rosa has a stack of letters proving this. When Barks visited Europe in 1994, the managers insisted on avoiding questions about Don Rosa and his "The Life and Times of $crooge McDuck" series, as if it was a kind of taboo. In the end, Barks sacked and even sued his managers. And finally on August 12th 1998 Don Rosa was invited by Barks to visit him in his home in Grants Pass, Oregon. An article about this event, written by Michael Naiman, was published by Gladstone in US #317:

In my opinion, whatever happened back in the 1990s shouldn??t be used against William Van Horn nor against Don Rosa. They are both great creators who have made great contributions to the Duckburg Universe, and thus has helped keeping the great heritage from Barks?? alive for new generations by expanding Barks?? Duckburg universe. Keep in mind that many of the youngest readers have discovered Barks by first discovering moderns creators like Rosa and Van Horn.

Thank you, Sigvald, for providing a link to that nice article by Michael Naiman. I really enjoyed it. I'm so pleased, too, to hear that Fantagraphics will be offering a Don Rosa Library. FINALLY, oh boy!!! (:

Review Or Die
The Van Horn stories I've read have always been enjoyable gag pieces, which is where I have the most experience with his work. He's one of those artists I can call completely consistent: He can be counted on to produce quality work, but I, personally, have never seen anything that I would specifically call a classic.
This sounds like an insult, but it really isn't. I've never seen a phoned in Van Horn story. I've never seen subpar art, hack jokes. I believe he can be counted on to produce a strong, publishable piece that doesn't just take up space, but actually adds value to the comic and makes it better for its publication.
I cannot tell you how difficult that is, especially in comedy. People run out of steam, coast on their past ideas, or just presume since they've done good work in the past, anything they do now must be good. I don't think Van Horn ever fell in to those traps.
He did a fantastic job with 'Horsing Around With History', too. I have a tremendous respect for him as a writer and an artist.

William Van Horn is one of the best Disney artists ever, at the same level with Barks and Rosa. The problem is that many persons don´t understand his subtle humour. That´s why sometimes Disney-fans post "dull and uninspired" judgements about his marvellous comics.

That is probably True. I think William Van Horn is just as good an artist as Carl Barks or Don Rosa. His Style is different but so are a lot of other artists. Every artist has his own unique style.

William Van Horn is one of my favorite Disney artists/writers. True, his stories are a bit quirky at times, but that helped them stand out among the seemingly endless parade of uninspired but on-model Guttenberghus Group/Egmont stories Gladstone and Disney would print (the same could be said about Don Rosa, Daan Jippes, Romano Scarpa and a few others whose names slip my mind at the moment.)

I think that Marco Rota and Arild Midthun are two artist that could be added to your list.
