Yeah it is cool. Too Bad we won't be able to see it in the USA unless of course another company besides Gemstone gets the license to publish Disney Comics.

Bill has finished the ink work on his new Donald Duck comic ?From Dawn ?Til Dusk? (D2009-123 ? 10 pages ? script: Peter Kowalewski). He was so kind to send us photocopies of the finished pages as well as his pencil scribbles. We have added a scan of the start panel to the story entry.
With a little luck, the comic will be published in Europe in early 2010.
Bill seems quite disappointed that BOOM will only publish those Italian fantasy yarns in WDC and MM & Friends. That´s why he will no longer letter the original art.

Never fear! Bill continues to work.
But remember that all American issues with Bill´s stories contain his own lettering too. The only one exception is the story Hot Shots which has a lettering of somebody else. Gemstone didn´t use Bill´s lettering because they didn´t know about it. Bill was very disgusted about that.

I'm not sure, Timo, we never asked Bill when exactly he used to letter his comics. In his last letter he explicitly stated: "Due to the fact that Disney comics are now kaput in North America I no longer letter the original art."
While Gemstone was in business, he could rely on it that his comics would be published in North America in due time. So he could as well go ahead and add the lettering, I suppose. Don't know how he did it when Gladstone lost their license.

"After Bruce (Hamilton) let the license go, he told me he expected to see Geppi get the license and publish within eight to ten months. So, I kept up the lettering. Of course, we did not expect it to take four and a half years to get Disney comics back on the stands. Nonetheless, I continued to hope. But now, no, I don't think it is worth the time and the agony of lettering."

Shame. I loved his lettering. I always thought it was the one thing that made so many of his stories distinct.
But I can't fault the man for not wanting to do it if he doesn't have to. Sometimes lettering can be such a chore to do and it takes so much time to get it right...
That's why I took my own handwriting and created a font out of it. Maybe you should suggest to WVH that he should do the same. It saves SO MUCH time and effort and unlike most terrible computer fonts you can get the lettering to look the way you want it.
