Quote from user: ScroodudeQuote from user: FuriennaAnd you know, Fenton still managed to do a lot of great things as Gizmoduck, so he obviously was the right one to become a super hero. There was an episode, where Launchpad ended up wearing the Gizmoduck suit, and he was clearly as unfit to use it as Huey, Dewie and Louie were..
For that matter, just throwing out a "could've-been" scenario, I think it would've been interesting to have seen Scrooge wear the Gizmo suit himself. Maybe Scrooge, one day frustrated with Fenton's incompetence, makes a friendly bet, saying that he could do better in the suit himself - except maybe he "turns to the dark side" with his new power and robs Glomgold's banks. I think the Masked Mallard episode proved that Scrooge could be a capable hero in his own right.
On that note it might've been a cool if inside joke if Darkwing sited the Masked Mallard character as an influence on his own crimebusting career, since I thank that episode did sort of test the waters for Darkwing.
he,yeah...scrooge is a capable hero, but i dont think he have time to do that :P ,i dunno how donald can be PK and take care of HDL and work and blablabla...
btw, is PK another influence of darkwing?
(PK is a donald super hero alter ego,but in the early stories he was more like a villain)

I vaguely recall reading somewhere that PK was an influence on the creators of the show. A teamup/rivalry between the two characters would've cool since, from the PK stories that I've read, PK has a similar personality to Darkwing.
I think Darkwing could actually fit quite well into the PK universe. Launchpad has already crossed over into mainstream Disney universe. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Fenton/Gizmoduck show up in a Scrooge story either.
Maybe Webby (never one of my favorites) could just make a brief, extra cameo as a Chickadee. Bubba I don't think really fit in at any point in the series and I see no way he could possibly fit into the mainstream anyway, from what I remember about Mrs. Beakley she was sometimes the voice of reason on adventures (which Donald and/or the nephews are in comics) or a mother figure to the nephews. A mother figure to the nephews would be an interesting addition to the comics, but I don't see how Mrs. Beakley could fit in anyway since I doubt Donald could ever afford to hire a nanny or a housekeeper. Duckworth was a fine comic relief character. I vaguely remember him appearing in a William Van Horn Donald story, but more as inside joke than anything else. I could see him coming up with some clever one-liners in the comics. Maybe they could just do one story where the Beagle Boys move back in with their mother (who I thought was an entertaining character on the show), who leads them in their crimes. Slightly diverging off topic, it would be tough to bring the Rescue Rangers into mainstream Chip and Dale stories, but maybe Nimnul could deal with the mainstream Chip and Dale, and it might be interesting if Max were to somehow team up with Gilbert
It would just be a way of continuing these characters - as long as they fit into the stories - and might also attract new readership from those who grew up with such characters.

I just had to bump this thread, because I just remembered a third time, when Fenton maybe not saved the day, but at least saved someone's life, without his Gizmoduck suit! I already mentioned the episode, when Launchpad wore the Gizmoduck suit ("A case of mistaken identity"). Well, wearing the Gizmoduck suit, Launchpad almost drowned, but Fenton saved him.

Now if DuckTales (and Darkwing Duck) had Huey, Dewey, and Louie as teens, that would be funny!:D
(of course it's probaly because I am a teen)
Oops...did I reply to a old post? Sorry....couldn't resist

This is an interesting thread... I'm actually glad it got brought back from the dead.
The voice issue is of particular interest to me. Whenever I read Disney comics, in my mind Donald has a speech impediment and Uncle Scrooge has a Scottish accent. Yet neither of them are written with that in mind -- to the best of my knowledge anyway. Is this because it would confuse the younger readers and/or make translating the idiosyncrasies of a Scottish accent into a a language other than English all that much harder...?

By my username, that was easy to figure out.
Voice issue would be solved for Huey, Dewey, and Louie, plus the teenage versions are pretty funny!
(Sad the show only lasted 38 episodes)

When I read comics, I don't think much of about what the characters sound like. But I don't really imagine Donald with a "duck voice". And I don't really imagine Scrooge with a Scottish accent either, because he doesn't have an accent in the Swedish version of "Duck Tales" anyway.

I don't know why Quack Pack didn't last very long. It should have been as popular as Duck Tales and Darkwing Duck. Apparently not enough people liked the show.

Well, I guess it had to do with the end of the Disney Afternoon, and many people were not used to Huey, Dewey, and Louie as teens.

I also have to say, that I don't like "Quack Pack" as much as I like "Duck Tales" or even "Darkwing Duck". And I didn't like how they mixed humans with humanesque animals. It just felt wrong.

Maybe so Furienna. Maybe they should make a Disney Duck show that takes place before Duck Tales. They could have Donald, Daisy, Scrooge, The Nephews, Gyro, Gladstone, and all of the other characters from the Disney Duck comic books. They could call it Duckburg USA.

Well Quack Pack I thought it was a cool show but it would have been better if they made more of the background characters to be anthropomorphized animals.
