Hi!

What do you mean?! Are you suggesting that Santa doesn't exist?!?!?

Thought maybe one or two folks might be interested in the following. The
Securities and Exchange Commission requires US companies to file public
documents of disclosure. The public document for Walt Disney Company can
be found at
http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/29082/0000898430-95-002664.txt If
one wished, one could search the document for keywords like EISNER or
BONUS. In fact, searching on EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT OF OVITZ brings one to
a section of recent note.

Ciao!

In addition to whatever proof was shown to you, Santa's task is made even
easier by noting that he doesn't have to do all the work on Christmas eve:
In east orthodox countries, e.g., instead of appearing as st. Nicolas, he
appears he appears in the guise of st. Basil, distributing presents on
*new year's* eve.

> Furthermore, on Christmas Eve I have twelve places to visit as a Santa
> Claus - and if I don't believe in myself then, who would?

And of course, the task is made even simpler by delegating tasks to helpers
such as yourself!

Gyro Gearloose
Me, write a Christmas letter?
What in tarnation do you think I am... SENTIMENTAL?
No, Gyro's gotten what he tells me is called an "e mail
account" here in his invention shop, and he asked me to give it a try.
I'm not arguing, because it's free (but I'm not going to spend too
long at it, either... time is money!)
He suggested I send a holiday letter to this group of
comic-book readers who churn out something called a "digest" ... he
said you were interested in me, or something. Why should a bunch of
Super Snooper followers be interested in me, anyway? Now if you were
FORTUNE-HUNTERS, perhaps I could understand it! Perhaps I needed a
candy-striped ruby to reap the economic benefits of Duckburg's social
clubs, but I can see why I could attract fellow fortune-hunters
without any status symbols at all...
...save my money bin, that is! Any dad-blasted money-grubber
who hopes to get an old oaken bucket of mazuma out of me, even on
Christmas, is barking up the wrong acacia!
Okay! Looking through some old messages Gyro just showed me,
it seems your crowd IS interested in my fortune-hunting skills, and so
forth. Good thing, too! It's about time someone took my example to
really GET somewhere in the world... working to win and making it
square! Doggoned if my noisy nephew Donald appreciates such things,
guzzling his consarned Gurgleurp and trading punches with his fat
neighbor! (Okay, he's helped me with a few... minor things, like
landing that King Sturgeon, but that's not the point.)
Gyro's looking over my shoulder now, reminding me that it's
Christmas again. What's he want me to do... type in a carol or
something for you? I'm not wasting my time with that kind of frippery
when I could be making MONEY!
Oh, okay, maybe you lot could stand a gift of some kind. The
best gift, I think, is good advice! If it were up to me to advise the
world (and you're darn tootin' I'm glad it ain't!) I'd tell every
rogue and deadbeat (no offense, fellows) to be thrifty, honest, and on
the lookout for anything that's too good to be true! You won't catch
me falling for the old shell game! Don't let anyone catch you there,
either!
Well, I've got to run. I've got to get to the museum to buy
some parts for my car. I'd better get that mistletoe off the office
door before Brigitta MacBridge sees that Donald put it there. And I've
got to make a collect call to my detectives at Vesuvius... I'm
suspicious of a grinning reindeer who's been hanging around Killmotor
Hill all day. Somehow I don't think she strayed from the crowd of 'em
they were showing to kids down at the shopping plaza. Oh, and I've got
to file the invoice for that gift... I mean, package that I sent to an
associate of mine in Dawson. The dad-blasted toil never stops!
Christmas is just another working day... that's all!

Yours in best tidings,
$crooge McDuck

I tried to use the address given for Bruce Hamilton and Gladstone to find
out more about the Unexpurgated Carl Barks. Unfortunately this address
passed up the item I was searching for. To find it I cancelled the Gladstone
from http:\\www.hamlco.com/bhc/gladstone so that it read

Merry Christmas, gang!

Being Jewish, I don't observe it religiously, but I know the
priceless, precious, and holy times it brings to a lot of you. All the
best morsels (edible and otherwise) to my fellow comic-fans on this day!
A quote from Dickens' _Christmas Carol_, as per Geoffrey Blum
(MICKEY AND DONALD 1, Christmas 1987):
"It was always said of Scrooge, that he knew best how to keep
Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that truly
be said of us, and all of us!"
Or as Mickey might put it:
"Fer gosh sakes! Have a doggoned swell Christmas!"

Yuletide greetings,
David Gerstein
