I dug out my old IO PAPERONE (translated into swedish, of course) and
compared the "older" version of "Bear Mountain" with the "newer". I
couldn't see in any way that the faces had been redrawn (why would they
want to redraw the faces?) I found a lot of other differences, though.
Probably due to changes ni the italian version rather than this recent
one. Pictures in the older were smaller and more compact. Somewhere in
the beginning of the story, the distance between Donald and a nephew is
very different. More backgrounds in the recent one also, and smaller
speech bubbles. The scene in the end where the nephews play on the floor
with the toys in $crooge's mansion was not present at all in that old
version...

After weeks and months (even years) heavily research we - 3 Barksists
from Aarhus, Denmark - have finally completed "The complete Danish
Carl Barks index". The index includes everyone of Barks stories,
covers, oil-paintings and the other miscellaneous things "The good
artist" had worked with during his long productive life. We have
also described all possible correction or changes made by Barks
himself or his editors at that time. Furthermore the index contains
listing of all publications of Barks work in the Danish comicbooks
(including information of the possible changes, redrawings or
deleted panels in the Danish issues).
Unfortunately, the index is written in Danish and thereby probably
only of interest for those of you who understand this beatiful

I've had a look, but I don't notice any significant difference, except that
in the new issue, the slits in the ducks pupils are slightly smaller/less
visible. Maybe the lacklustre coloring makes the story seem worse?

I have looked through both the norwegian one and the one from Gladstone
and I don't think any is redrawn. But the coloring isn't exactly good,
so maybe it was better done the first time?
