Of course it's not COLOR BLACK&WHITE, but plain black and
white...
the ones from Another Rainbow
(I just got so used to the name CBLiC by the momentarily running

Disney Censorship: a new frontier is reached?
Message 137 -

A friend has shown me an article on a newspaper ("La Nazione", Monday,
November 16th 1998, page 12).
It says that Disney censorship has reached at last what seemed to be the
last free land... Italy.
At Rome, during Expocartoon, Rinaldo Traini has said that Disney will not
renew permission to print amatorial editions of the classic Gottfredson
stories for many "politically un-correct" episodes. So "Comic Art" will not
be able to print stories featuring Mickey in World War Two (apparently
ignoring that the "enemy" was **not** the German people **but** the Nazi
government...) or Mickey dealing with the Arabian world or such...
I was not in Rome, unfortunately. But maybe someone who was there (Paolo,
Dario, Luca?) can confirm this and/or add more details?

Yes. I confirm. A list of "censored" stories there is. and also in
Italy, in amatourish form, can't be reprinted anymore.

Disney took over the publication of Disney comics in Italy at around the
same time as they attempted to become a player in the US comics market, so
in that sense Italy hasn't been "free" for quite some time. Still, it is
interesting that Disney took this long to hand down such an edict there.

Finnish: Viisas, Vilkas, Ujo, Joro, Nuhanena, Unelias, Lystikas
Of course, A's and O's in Joro and Lystikas should be 'umlaut', as
well as the last O in Nuhanena.
BTW, isn't there any chance to make umlaut-O's and A's visible here???
I believe most of our Scandinavian & German-speaking members would
appreciate that (I would!).

Hm.. "the last O in Nuhanena"... Finnish is a mysterious language... 8-)

No chance as long as the computer world does not agree on using the same
character set everywhere. The umlauts you see correctly on your computer,
can look like total garbage on someone else's computer.

A friend told me that page 33 of PKNA #0 on my Web pages was in black-and-white.
I have corrected this now uploading a colo(u)r version of that page.
Should there be any other similar problem, please feel free to contact me!

Well, Sciarrone is an Italian disney artist... a young one, but a good one (a
thing that hardly happens lately in Italy unfortunately)
This week-end in Milan there's a little comics exposition and he'll be there.
Too bad I don't know exactly when, but I'll try to find him anyway.
Just to let you all know, case somebody's passing by :-)

I should have had mentioned as well that that was the reason for

Rosa Album #19 out in Germany
Message 148 -
1998-11-26 at 19:05:48
Hello everyone!
since it is almost December now the new Rosa Album #19 is released in
Germany.
It contains
-The incredible shrinking tightwad (first time as complete version)
-The once and future Duck (1 part version)
And there is a comment from Don on each of the stories in the Album as well.
the only drawback is that it very obvious to to the reader which panels (two
half pages) have been added in, since the lines are really thick and a lot
of detail is lost on the new page.
The cover is the same as on WDC&S 613.
BYE!

E.g., they'd (literally) look like Greek to me. Umlaut-A would appear as a
