Hello,

I'm back from a weekend full of comics at Expocartoon, where I
had the luck to join a very interesting meeting about Floyd
Gottfredson, where I met many of the subscribers of this list
(among the others, Alberto Becattini, Luca Boschi, Frank Stajano,
Leonardo Gori, some lurkers and surely someone else I don't
recall at the moment... ah, there were Alfredo Castelli and
Giulio C. Cuccolini, two authorities in the Italian Comics
world).
During this meeting we had a great time discussing about Mickey's
orgins, Gottfredson and Walsh's work, and about two great books
about MM, one from Becattini and another one from Gori and
Stajano: I bought both of them, and now I'm still reading the
fisrt one (I won't thell which I decided to read for first...)
and it's really interesting!!!!!!! A must for every and each
Mouse lover.
For the ones attending to this meeting there was a surprise too,
a GREAT surprise: the very FIRST Mickey's cartoon in colour, and
I'm not talking about "The Band Concert", but about a short made
by the studios to celebrate Mickey's first Oscar. It leasts about
3 minutes, and consists of a parade lead by Mickey where appear
all the actors (as cartoons) who won the oscar in that year. In
this cartoon Mickey doesn't wears his usual red shorts, but a
GREEN one with white buttons! Oh, and the parade was closed by a
GRAY Pluto... A great emotion: I felt like really living in those
days, when Mickey's image wasn't so well defined as today!!!
Really a great present from Rinaldo Traini, I suppose, who is the
ideator and producer of Expocartoon.

In the same days there was an exhibition about Mickey in "Palazzo
delle Esposizioni", a building where are usually presented
exhibitions from famous painters and other "seriuos" exhibitions:
so in the rooms near De Chirico, Morandi, and Picasso there were
drawings from "MM in the plumber's helper", just after an
exhibition about the first inhabitants of Eurasia there was "MM
and Eega Beeva". Very interesting, but a little bit too small,
IMHO. I still remember the GREAT exhibition made in Rome for MM's
60th birthday.

Well, I suppose I bored all you duck-fans too much... :-)

AGAIN???

I'm still waitinig for the issue (in my mailbox)... And I well
remember to note, to Italian Disney's editors to AVOID last time's
mispell. Obviously I wrote the exact Dave's name... I also mada a
Warning... What must I do??? Why someone there is so "ignorant"??? In
the Gottfredson "Maestri Disney" something of similar happens. Do you
know the italia title "Topolino contro Wolp"? Maybe it's the most
famous Topolino's book in Italy. Well, someone decided that Wolp's
name is "Wolf" (still from the Nerbini's album) and wrote it like this
three of four times. Why?
I apologize with Dave. Obvoiusly somene thougt thet the mispell were
mine and "corrected" Gerstein on the basis of the previous "ZP"
mispell... Next time I'll write your name with the spray on Disney's
walls...

It certainly is not off-topic, since this list is about Disney comics, not
only Duck comics. As long as it's *Disney* and is related to *comics*, it
belongs on this list!

Kloker, Glader, Butter, Blyger, Prosit, Troetter, Toker
with oe in Troetter =3D o-umlaut. (=D6)

OK!

Norwegian:
Brille, Lystig, Sinnataggen, Blygen, Prosit, Soevnig, Dopey
with oe in soevnig =3D o-umlaut. (=F8)

I'm not sure about Dopey though. (maybe it was "Minsten")
It's a bit strange if one name out of seven is not translated.
