while since they appeared in Finland, or they were in an obscure edition
(other than the weekly) or have never appeared in Finland at all. I'm also
providing a new book cover, texts to accompany each story, and
reproductions of unused portions of the original storyboard-scripts of the
stories.
It will be released in November -- I'll be touring book stores in Finland
to promote it on Nov. 29-Dec. 5, hitting four cities this time.... then
I'll stay for their gigantic 50th Anniversary celebration of the first
issue of AKU ANKKA (Dec. 5, 1951) where I will be required to don my first
tuxedo! (What about my wedding? No, I got married in a t-shirt and bare
feet under a palm tree on a tropical beach.)

Just in defense of the spirit of these dealers who are used to selling in
open-air markets, they were able to button up tight and withstand the

years ago, the weather was perfect. That's the breaks.

And BTW, Sanoma-WSOY --> Helsinki-Media publishes lots of another great
magazines too. One of them, that I subscribe to, is the very good quality
computer-game magazine called Pelit. The good thing about it: Expert
knowledge. It's a long way better than one lousy world-wide game-magazine,
wich is regrettably now also selled in Finland. I would never buy it though.

I always have limitless time to make self-portraits of people in lines. It
would simply involve handing them a pencil and paper and saying "go to it".
One can only make a self-portrait of one's *self*. I drew a scribble of my
own puss for Arthur... a self-portrait (self-scribble?)... but I would
still have found some excuse *not* to if I hadn't known he was a ML and
DUCKhunt member. I wouldn't have done that for everyone in line because
it's more fun to draw Barks' Ducks, and also much quicker because I've
*trained* myself to draw certain views of Duck faces really quick so people
don't need to wait any longer than I can help it. (It really makes me
uneasy, seeing those long lines of people waiting for ME... and yet I don't
want to seem to brush them off when they reach me... it's a stressful job,
but it's still fun and energizing due to the pure and infectious enthusiasm
of comics fans in Europe. It's always like being transported back to an
American comic convention of 1969.)

I clicked on the link to get to the "Yellow Kid" "Hogan's Alley" page.
There's a "This Month" feature, leading to interviews, ...
But I cant see the "e-mail the webmaster" thing. (?)
Anyway, I don't know how to fix your problem, but (assuming you have a PC),
by clicking on it, "Properties" will display the e-mail (with " mailto: "
at the beginning) which you can copy.
No big help, I'm afraid, but at least you can e-mail.

King Louie and Mowgli

Dear fellows,
We (at I.N.D.U.C.K.S., that is) have been trying for a while to
identify a one-pager, appearing in an Italian issue (Almanacco
Topolino 147, 3/69).
It seems rather likely that it was originally published in the
States, in the "one-shot" Gold Key issue "King Louie and Mowgli",
from 5/68.
Although we couldn't find it in the two copies of the comic we've
checked, there remains a doubt about the possibility of it having
been replaced by an ad in both...
Could anybody check their copies, those who have them, of course ?
Here's a brief description:
King Louie is comfortably asleep on a tree branch, Mowgli wants to
do the same but can't fit in the branches... he finds a nest, from
which he unloads the eggs into Louie's lap, then curls up into it...

Hi, y'all:
Just want to say, I'm back from a long bout of lurking and absenteeism.
Won't go into it here, but I guess it's just been tough being motivated
while America hasn't produced Duck comics. For years I've looked forward to
reading them with my kids, and now that they're finally old enough -- Bah!
Humbug! Thank Gizmo I've saved years' worth of old books; however, turning
them over to my kids is a bit sacrificial because they are eventually
trashed completely. But they love them so I don't mind. Somebody, just
please, please convince the Mouse Factory to license Duck comics again!!
