According to Rich Johnston, Boom! (publishers of the Incredibles, the Muppets, and other kids' books) now has the license to Gemstone's Disney titles.

The article lists "The Life And Times of Scrooge McDuck" and "Mickey Mouse and Friends", in addition to "Donald Duck: and "Walt Disney's Comics & Stories". So, perhaps there will be 4 Disney comic book titles published by Boom!

I'm missing "Uncle Scrooge" in the title list, but the article says "I understand that Boom Studios has won the comic book license for "Walt Disney Comics And Stories," "Mickey Mouse And Friends," "Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck," "Donald Duck" and more." So there is space for more titles incl. Uncle Scrooge and the long awaited Carl Barks Collection ;)
Has anyone seen a published book from Boom? How is the quality?

That sounds cool.

Note that this is a rumour column! There has been no official announcement from Boom.

They have not denied it, either.

We wait and see :)

I hope the rumor is true. It would be nice if there was a new company that published Disney Comics. I just hope they won't be too expensive.

I'm not too happy to read this news, because Boom! Disney comics (Cars, Incredibles, Muppets) are not available outside USA with Previews; so for me it could be difficult to start again my Disney comic books collection.

That's a good point. I can't find any Boom comic at Amazon. Don't they sell with an ISBN in book stores?
Boom! Studios itself ships to Europe :) $13.95 shipping to Germany

Boom! has announced that their Cars, Incredibles, Muppet, Toy Story and Finding Nemo miniseries will all be collected in trade paperbacks. Presumably, those collections will be available through Amazon etc.

As far as I know, BOOM!'s editor in chief Mark Waid has a policy of not responding to any rumours from Lying in the Gutters.

I'd say there's still a good chance this isn't true. But, of course, it might be true. Only BOOM! and Disney would know, and they're not saying anything at the moment.

I really hope that Boom publishes the Disney Comics that I like so much. I would hate to think that Disney Comics are gone for good.
