Maybe it's one of those previously unreleased stories with Dickie Duck or Gideon McDuck or something like that. Those stories have never been released in America.

I haven't read it myself, though. And there are several other stories that should be used first, since they introduce certain characters seen in this story.

It seems like BOOM! won't be doing "traditional" stories with Mickey and Donald any time soon. Everything I've seen points to these big, multi-part epics which are parodies of genres that have proven successful in the American comic book market (superheroes, fantasy, spy thrillers and science fiction.)
I'm sure it's a smart business move. I'm just a little sad we might not get to see stories where Mickey and Donald are, well, THEMSELVES. :(

They said they won't give any credit for Gemstone's unfilled subscriptions.

I don't know if you can do it anymore, but Gemstone refunded the difference on my US subscription - that was in April or May though......I am looking forward to any form (in a standard sized comic book,) of continuing Uncle Scrooge. I am hoping for a Boom Fall issue release of #384 - it has been almost a year without....The way the standard cover draft looks online though....it looks like we might be entering the Whitman era again.

TBH I was expecting that (and am also glad I had the sense not to spend that much money on Gemstone's subscriptions for the prestige books in general). It's really a shame, but you can't honestly blame Boom for balking away at such requests given the details behind Gemstone's rather unfortunate demise. :(

If they did accept it, while being an overly nice and unexpected courtesy, it would also be the business equivalent of starting after a botched suicide attempt. It would also mean they'd be beginning their tenure deep in the red, which is just insane given the risk they're already taking with the license...

Accepting the Gemstone credits would also mean taking on part of Geppi's ridiculous self-created debt. This is something that A) they have no obligation to do B) is not their responsibility to fix and C) lays entirely at the source of the problem - Geppi's mismanagement of Gemstone's funds.

I'd try McDuck Enterprise's suggestion of trying to ge the difference refunded through what's left of Gemstone, Robb, but at this juncture (with everything that has happened) it may be too late... :(

What do you mean? Standard cover draft for which books? All of them in general?

If so I'd have to take extreme umbrage at that statement since (and this is just my opinion here) Whitman was the negative-fifty-nadir-point of the entire license as a whole - no new anything, no foreign anything, bad coloring on things that already had color, flimsy print quality, even their constant reprints were treated so haphazardly it bordered on preposterousness, and even Egmont had - by that time - abandoned American produced anything because they'd let it de-evolve into such an awful miasma before Gladstone came in and rescued it. So you can see why I'd think that's a pretty bold assumption for something that hasn't even hit shelves yet, already has them one-upped on all of that, and is really no different from any materials that could have (theoretically) appeared in a Gemstone or Disney book at any given period.

where can the uncle scrooge cover be seen? All i can find is the old gemstone cover for #384 and I don't see it on the Boom sites.
