Quote from user: Michiel PQuote from user: Lars JensenIn that case Ludwig von Drake is one of the missing characters.
You may be right, but can you prove that he was used by Carl Barks?
Barks used him in "Flowers are flowers" ( http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=W+US+++54-06 ).

Which story? I've got to be strict here. ;)
Quote from user: GeoXDonald refers to HDL's "grandma" in "Volcano Valley." This could just refer to plain ol' Grandma Duck, of course, but it's ambiguous.
I take Donald's words to refer to either his own mother (which seems the most likely, emotionwise) or to Grandma Duck, whom Barks used a few months later in "Atonal Terror". Both are included in Rosa's Family Tree.

This answer is right! :)

Here is a nice one I always wandere why it was not included.
Grandma Duck Uncle Eider

You can clearly see it in Barks' sketches

Because Don Rosa decided to disregard anything Barks created after his retirement. :/

This answer is correct! :) Uncle Eider from "Gold of the '49ers", whom I guess must be either a Coot or a Gadwall, if we want to keep things simple.

Not understood. You state that Unca Eider was ignored on purpose when Don Rosa created his Duck family tree... and then you state what Unca Eider's last name must be, since it should be compliant with that family tree. How does that make sense? Either Unca Eider is part of Rosa's tree and therefore should follow the rules of that tree... or he isn't part of the tree and therefore doesn't need to follow those rules. Since Don Rosa, according to you, deliberately chose not to use Unca Eider in the tree, it means the tree's rules do not apply to Unca Eider. His last name could be anything.

If King Scrooge-Shah counts...
Prince Donduk? (Same story)
Some people would say that their dog is a part of the family, but I believe Bolivar doesn't count? ;)
Somewhat similar to King Scrooge the First;
Matey McDuck and Pintail? Back to Long Ago

Well, no. There is a dog character involved, though.

Quote:Name 18 (!) Duck family members that were used, named or mentioned by Carl Barks, but were nevertheless omitted from Don Rosa's Duck Family Tree? Please include a story title or Inducks-link in your answer.
- Only 7 of these were unseen characters.
- The question refers to this version of Rosa's Family Tree, which includes Daisy and her nieces.
- These 18 characters have been family members right from their first appearance. Characters that were retroactively made into family members, e.g. Flintheart Glomgold, don't count.
So far, we've found:
- Daisy's sister - ("Flip Decision")
- Donald's uncle Ludwig von Drake - ("Flowers are Flowers")
- Donald's cousin Mehitabel Mudhen - ("Collection Crisis"/"Tax Collectors")
- Grandma's uncle Eider - ("Gold of the '49ers")
- Scrooge's ancestor King Scrooge-Shah - ("King Scrooge the First")
- Donald's ancestor Prince Donduk - ("King Scrooge the First")

If Daisy qualifies, I suppose Brigitta MacBridge and Glittering Goldie do as well. So... Brigitta and Goldie!

Quote from user: Michiel PQuote from user: Lars JensenHow do you define "Duck family"?
The family as shown in this version of Rosa's Family Tree. That is, anyone who is in one way or another related to the main characters, defined by me as Donald, Gladstone, Daisy, Scrooge and Grandma. Anyone named Duck is obviously included.
Quote from user: Lars JensenIf Daisy qualifies, I suppose Brigitta MacBridge and Glittering Goldie do as well. So... Brigitta and Goldie!
For the purposes of this quiz, Daisy qualifies as a family member, because a) she's included in this version of Rosa's Family Tree and b) her last name is Duck. She does not qualify as an answer, because she's already included.
Brigitta and Goldie do not meet these requirements. They are not related to any of the main characters. Also, their last name is not Duck. Thus, they do not qualify as family members.
