For all interested there is a nice sketch by Barks on eBay. It is a
sketch for a later WDC&S cover (313?). I don't know the exact address
but I found it by searching under "Carl Barks".

I think I remember the story you talk about. It comes to mind having a

The story was about the camera that Gyro lended to HDL, they shot photoes
of builidings
and of Donald's chair... in which Gladstone was suddenly sitting.

other sources say that Donald was born in 1934. But in '34 he was grown up
already. Donald also wears his Sailor suit (or whatever the english' say,
(we say matzrozenpakje)) and I thought that when Donald left his parents he
lived on a boat. But not when he was a 6-10 year old kid, eh duck...
Maybe Don should make some story what titles The life of Donald Duck . OK I
agree that Donalds life is not so interesting a Scrooges and that you can't
make so many parts...

This is indeed a strange coincidence, but apparently there is a doubt
that Alfredinho really is the Portuguese name of Izzy Wolf.
Izzy Wolf and his father mostly are unknwon characters in France,
especially for the editors who gave them unconsistent names to (like
Mauvais Loup and others).
That is not surprising: a lot of secondary characters had unconsistent
names in the 50s and 60s in France.
The Wolf stories were first published in 1952 in France. Izzy and Zeke's
brother appeared at that time, but they were considered as one-shot
characters.
Don't forget that the author of the LW stories himself said Alfred is
supposed to be Brer Fox's son, so I really think he is not the same as
Izzy!

I notice now when digging through old postings to the list that this
topic was current last in the beginning of this year, so I'm guess
this is all old hat. Since the only consistent name seems to be the
current Scuttle (at Egmont) the DCML pages now too uses that name.
The little info I know now is at

It would be nice to know more.
The main news at the DCML pages otherwise is that the Inducks
interface there will be much more up-to-date from now on. Instead of
using the same database for a long time before everything is updated
at once as was done recently, the database can instead be updated in
pieces each time one particular index in it is updated. That means at
least the Swedish part will be seen directly in the web interface
almost as soon as issues are indexed, but other countries will also
benefit.

Vigilante of Pizen Bluff". But I never sent Dan any text or art to put on
his webpage. If I could afford to take time off from work, I would supply
Dan with texts and art samples for dozens of more stories. Someday,
someday.......

Barks (I don't "judge" their work, I simply ignore it) or suggested by a
Disney cartoon (which I consider not even to be relevant as I see that as a
different character than the one Barks derived). I base everything I write
on Barks' stories, adapting and interpolating history in the only form I
see possible based on his originals, though freely admitting that my
version is only my version and not designed to be agreed to by any other
writer or artist, or even Barks.

I had a look at all Brazilian reprints featuring Izzy I have, and
I couldn't find the name "Alfredinho" anywhere... I found, for the
same character, names like "Dudu Treme-Treme" (1),
"Chiquinho" (1), "Arrelia" (2), and the most used: Ivazinho (7)
-- referring to Ivan the Terrible, I think, and a good way to
use that "I" letter on his shirt.

The KOMIX #137 is out on the newsstands. And we have an announcement :A
special oversized (132 pg.) issue for the millenium is preparing for
publishing next January 2000 (dedicated to three great artists:Barks, Rosa &
Scarpa).
I also think many things are going to change about KOMIX. A part
(about 50%) of the publishing company was acquired by another large company
and I believe this is a landmark for the future of the KOMIX.
Finally I noticed that in every editorial or article there are
references, bibliography and sources.
