Hmmm, so since there's been no factual answer, is it safe to assume that the
creators are Walt and Nash? And DD developed later by Hurter, Babbit,
Huermer, and further more developed by Hannah and Barks?

Yes, i remember reading a two-page gag featuring Lunchbad and Gyro with a
gag about an aeroplane Gyro invented, drawn by Van Horn. As for his one-page
comics, i havent see it printed it here yet. Guess i was wrong about the
Ducktales-only character there. okay, now i have look through my collection,
now i see that he's been used in several duck stories as well. Now my
question is, where his first appearance started? Is it from the Ducktales
movie? or he started in a comic story first, then used in the Ducktales TV
series?

Yep, but then the plot was "forced" to be that way so that DD can't join
most adventures with U$ and HDL in a more logical way. Thanks for sharing
the infos. i never knew about that plot, cause i only watched several
Ducktales series.

Oh, and i read somewhere before that Lucas and Spielberg are also fascinated
by barks' works. i recently found out that Lucas "stole" an inspiration from

Based on the original question, I would definitely add to Donald's "creator
credits" the book "The Adventures of Mickey Mouse" published by David McKay
of New York and the poem entitled "More HooZoo" from the "Mickey Mouse Annual"
published by the English firm, Dean & Son, both printed in 1931, and both
listing the name "Donald Duck" among Mickey's farmyard friends, and even
depicting Donald in a more pre-historic form (more duck-like and wearing
button shorts instead of a sailor's shirt). Of course there is the matter of
his evolution from that early depiction to his first film appearance. Still
Donald Duck was already a "named" character prior to the "Wise Little Hen."
Oddly, another character, who seems to have originated from that list of
Mickey's friends, never quite made it very far: Jenny Wren. She appeared
in "Who shot Cock Robin?" and "Toby Tortoise Returns" and then faded into
obscurity. With her "Mae West" persona she seemed like such a great character.
Clara Hen (Cluck) and Patricia Pig fared only slightly better, but at least
they are still around. Others like Robert Rooster and Olga Owl never appeared
again though.

Launchpad (not Lunchbad...) McQuack was created for the DuckTales TV series,
then used in some DuckTales comics and the DuckTales movie. He was also later
a regular on the DarkWing Duck TV series. Some of the DuckTales comic stories
in which he appeared were later reprinted as Uncle Scrooge stories, but they
weren't actually Uncle Scrooge stories. Hope this clears up the confusion
about that.

Company as a generic cultural icon to risk his getting personality,

I was wiondering what the final word is on the exhibit "Duckburg is
Everywhere". Are there some Disney ducks there ? Was a catalog published ?

This is not quite fair, for a technical reason. Firstly, lots of people
recieve the DCML mail in a digest, while some others don't. So the
non-digest members would have an advantage. Secondly, people in different
parts of the world read their mail on different times (when they are not
sleeping, for instance).
So a random pick of 2 correct answers would be more fair. (And give people
at least 2 days to answer.)

non-digest members would have an advantage. Secondly, people in different
parts of the world read their mail on different times (when they are not
sleeping, for instance).
So a random pick of 2 correct answers would be more fair. (And give people
at least 2 days to answer.)
