Very nice artwork and story, Fergus. It's obvious that you have the talent to draw well.
How long have you been drawing?
I like your story a lot. It is a bit long to match the worthiness of the plot and subject matter. But it has some nice action, and very nice scenery, and your Ducks are drawn very well for a non-professional. It is clear that you pattern your style after Carl Barks. I really like your natural landscapes. The rocks, trees and water are drawn very well.
The plot of the story is nice, too.
Thanks so much for showing us your work. Do you have any others to show us? We would love to see them.

Thanks for your drawing, too, Vo Bo. I like the bright colouring. I think Scrooge's head is a bit too large for his body, and the legs are too short. But, otherwise, it looks nice.

Thanks for posting the first page of your story, Vo Bo. I can't wait to see what happens at Uncle Scrooge's pig farm. It's also intriguing to see one of The Nephews thanking Miss Quackfaster for something. I hope we will find out what he thanked her for later in the story. Or was he ust thanking her for her letting them go in to see Scrooge, without asking his permission?

Fergus, I liked your story a lot! It has a good plot and your drawings are nice as well. I especially liked your Ducks and the outdoor scenery. Your interior drawings could use a bit of perspective improvement, but all in all I like your artwork. And one could really see, how your skills improved from start to finish of that story!
Your characterisation of the Ducks was spot on, and I liked, how you told a retrospect to Uncle Scrooge's past without relying on Don Rosa's McDuck biography. Very nice work, indeed. Maybe you should send your comic in to somebody responsible at Egmont?

Zacharias, I would appreciate your telling a bit about yourself and connection with Disney Comics on this forum's "Introducktion" thread (if you want to). I live in München three months per year, and also spend time in The Ruhrgebiet and Bremen/Delmenhorst/Oldenburg area. I'm curious about what part of Deutschland you live, and your interest in Disney comics.

VoBo, good work! In my opinion, HD&L on panel 1 are perfect! But I think Scrooge's eyes on panel 2 is too small, and desk on panel 2 and 3 could use a bit of perspective improvement.

Thanks for showing us your other stories, Fergus. They look interesting. It's clear to see that your drawing has improved very much during the time of your drawing the three stories.

VoBo, I think it is refreshing to see them picking their teeth and burbing after dinner!
And Fergus - I find your drawings very energetic in that oldfashioned Barks-way...Perhaps Donalds head is a bit small compared with his eyes, but I sure like your perspective, overall!

No, we have never met. I would love to meet you sometime though. I'm a freelance colorist and have colored comics for Egmont since 2004. Now I want to "move on" and draw my own stories/story boards/sketches like you do. I have recently joined DDF(R) and have done some drawings for "Rappet", so maybe we will meet at some "foreningsmøde" some day. I have so many questions for you.

No, I might ad to both of you, we haven't met - yet - though we could have bumped into each other at some convention!
I, too, am about to become a member of DDF(R), my lazyness being the only obstacle...many of the DDF(R)'s know me 'cause of my writing on Seriejournalen (for bad or for worse)
