Here is Cupido-Mirin, an Amazonian Pygmy Indian chief of a tribe from a 30-page José Carioca epic adventure story I am working on, in the style of his 1943 newspaper comic strip:

No, Carl Barks never drew Emil Eagle. And I didn't like the style used by Murry, Lockman, and whoever else drew him. I used him in 4 of my stories, and Santiago Scalabroni drew him somewhere in between how I drew him, and how Murray drew him. The others drew him in a very ugly and "squarish", non-fluid style. Their writers depicted him in a manner that made him a dim-witted petty crook. I used him as a rival inventor to Gyro, who, while not as ingenius as Gyro, can fight him in "inventor wars", and if stealing, he's stealing Gyro's invention ideas and plans, rather than someone's money or valuables. I like him much better as a rival to Gyro, than a stupid, incompetent, petty crook.

I had Emil take advantage of Gyro's absent-minded mistake in "The Key To The Problem", by running into Gyro's workshop and stealing all his invention plans, when Gyro left his keys inside his house, and when he pressed the button on his remote control super magnetic key locater, they broke the workshop window, to get out of the workshop, when being retrieved by Gyro.

In "The Not So Alien, Alien", Emil was Gyro's rival in a contest to make the first contact with beings from another planet. Emil worked hard to try to sabotage Gyro's efforts, after seeing that his inventions didn't work.

In "The Innovative Crook Foiler", Emil tries to sneak up on Gyro, and grab his potfolio filled with invention plans. But one of Gyro's built-in safety measures on his clothing, is triggered, and Emil is stopped, and held helpless in some way (I can't remember if it was robot arms that slug him or trip him, and then a net falls over him and holds him fast- or something equivalent).

But my favourite use of him is in making dastardly wicked (though not too efficient) inventions, and duelling with the absent-minded inventor, Gyro.
