Thanks for the new scans, Rob!

Great art, Quackberg!
This drawing of "Goldrush" truly looks as if it came from an actual comic-- it's that good.

Unfortunately, I can't see anything else. Even with Firefox, I cannot view any gallery on DeviantArt; I used to be able to, but somehow I no longer can.
Update: I can now see your "Recent Deviations" in Firefox, by deactivating Norton's Internet Security; it's surely not the best solution, though, and I still cannot visit the gallery.

Wow, James Coot is great! It looks a bit like a Branca drawing.

I'm in awe. This is splendid.
The characters are perfectly drawn, and the drawings have a very pleasant "smooth", natural, "flowing" quality. There is a hint of Van Horn and Verhagen as well (the hands, for instance).

This is an old picture I made and it shows how I imagine Flintheart's Father, but I don't have a good name for him but I call him "Goldrush" Glomgold.

If you want to, you can see more of my duck pictures at: http://slackjawsnoremore.deviantart.com/gallery/

Hope you like them!

PS: There is also two Davy Jones pictures in there, and that is my version of him in the Donald Duck universe

Hey, Slackjaw!! This is Mouselady from DA!! *glomps you* I thought I recognized your work. Thanks for posting it on my thread! :)

Quackberg, you have drawn some nice compositions. As far as the style, it doesn't look like Branca to me. It looks a bit like Marco Rota's early Italian style, mixed with that of Jules Coenan (Dutch 1980s artist). I like your Grandma Duck best.

Who is James Coot? Is he an official Disney Character or a fan based creation? He sounds like a relative of Grandma Duck's from her side of the family.

James Coot looks like an interesting character. Was he an ancestor of Cornelius? Was he an explorer? Was he introduced by Don Rosa?

Quote from user: Robb_KVery nice drawings, Quackberg. I like the style better than several of the professional Egmont artists.

O Née! Ik ben nu Belgier!

Thanks!

Not bad, Quackberg. For some reason I especially like the drawings of Flintheart's nephew.

I am glad to hear that you like my drawing of Slackjaw, he has actually become one of my favorite characters. Perhaps you can use him a second time in a story, to let him grow and become more famous. If you can, it would be great if you could answer three questions about him: What is his name in Danish (he is named "Matte Slappnäbb" in Swedish)? How did you come up with the idea of the character? Did you picture him as Vicar drew him? Oh, this "thanks" has now turned into a interview, sorry about that, but it really would make my day if you answer them. Thanks!

Hey, Mouselady aka Lady Quackly! I didn't know that you was in this forum! It is nice to meet some one you recognize and you really made a great thread which lets other people show their drawing skills!

The James Coot character is fan made and he is a pun of James Cook, the English explorer. I made him a grandfather of Cornelius Coot and therefor also an relative of Grandma Duck.
Thanks to all that you think that I draw good! I actualy like that you discuss which artist my style resembles the most because I actually try to draw like Carl Barks, but I am never close, it dosen't resemble him at all. Therefor I am glad that you resemble me with other very good artists. Thanks! PS: If you can figure out a good name for "Goldrush" Glomgold, Flintheart's father, I would be greatful!

If James Coot is Cornelius Coot's Grandfather then that would make Grandma's Double Great Grandfather. I like the name Goldrush Glomgold for Flintheart's father. Maybe I should bring back the Ideas for New Disney Characters Thread.

Yes, you can do that.

Thank you Quackberg.

I know, I'm twisting the function of this thread, but anyway:
The following picture has nothing to do with Disney Duck art or Disney characters (except the character being inspired by "Little Bad Wolf" a little) but I want to ask you, what you think about him and if you have any suggestions for improving him.

((I need him for some kind of presentation.))

More pictures of him will follow soon, if you don't object me misusing this thread ...

Is he a fox? His face looks like a member of the cat family. But his tail looks like from a member of the dog family. He looks like a bobcat with a fox's tail. His feet look more like cats' feet, too. I can't see any other problems with the design (if what I've described is even a problem). It probably shouldn't be.
