I scanned the Perego panels. Apologies for the poor quality, but I'm not
very experienced in scanning and editing images.

ALL FINNS!
As you probably know, Don Rosa is comig to Finland next Thrusday and
leaving on Sunday. I however, will be leaving Finland tomorrow, and will
return on Monday, just missing Don.
Don promised he'd draw me something if there was someone to get it for me.
As most of you will probably be going to see Don, I was wondering if you
might be so kind as to ask Don to draw me something and then send it to me
- I'll pay for the postages, of course. If the Helsinki Media people
hadn't screwed up the printing of the Lo$ book, I would've naturally sent
that to Helsinki to be signed. But if you'd ask Don to draw me something,
it would really save my day.

I have returned to my childhood interest in Disney comics, and was wondering
whether someone could provide me with information about the Phantom Blot:
who conceived him, how many full length comics were devoted to him, etc. The
Australian editions used to be lumped together with Uncle Scrooge etc using
the "G" catalogue letter; how were they indexed in the Gold Key editions?

"An Eye for Detail" by Don Rosa is a ten-page story. But I wouldn't

solicitations a couple of months ago. According to issue #1251, page 70,
Gladstone is shipping something called "Donald Duck & Uncle $crooge: The Best &
Firsts" for $19.95. I do not recall reading about this anywhere else. Is the
CBG accurate? And if so, what is this?
And any idea when the Lo$ hardcover will make it to the stores?

No problem. Thanks! I do remember it now. I was getting worried I had missed
something for a minute. It reprinted a few Carl Barks stories, I believe,
which I already have all of.

In german LT 13 "Micky regelt Klarabellas Erbschaft" (story code I TL
466-B, se:KAP 11,dk:JB 11) *three* pages by Carpi are replaced. This was
one of the first pocket books I read as kid. Even then, knowing nothing
about different artists, I stumbled over the drastic change in style and
lack in story depth (Nothing personal Mr. Perego, but it really can be
annoying).
I don't have a copy of the original art though. I know it from the
"Ehapa durchleuchtet" I mentioned. Maybe some of the Italian list
members can provide the original pages if you're interested.
I've got another one: German LT 16 "Der Gegenspieler" by Gatto (story
code I TL 296-B; se:77-16, dk:AA59-20). It's not as bad as the others.
Two panels showing US in a strait jacket are replaced by Perego ones.
And they did it again:
LT 19 "Donald und der Lgendetektor" by Chierchini (story code I TL
493-B; se:KAP 10, dk:JB 10). Alongside with minor censoring (machine
guns become archaic guns, tear gas becomes a basket with eggs, strangely
there's still a sign with "Tr?nengas" = tear gas in the german version)
three panels in which Donald hits the BB with a club are replaced with
Perego art.
And then there's a really annoying one again: LT 21 "Der schwarze
Domino" by Chierchini (story code I TL 568-B; se:KAP 12,dk:JB 12). Two
panels in which a Beagle Boy hits Donald with a club are replaced by two
new ones which again are really pointless.
If you're interested in this kind of stuff I again recommend
Hunoltstein's "Ehapa durchleuchtet". It still should be available.

cool-sounding Life of $crooge album to my Christmas list. Some
questions, though. The fellow at the local comic book store said there
are two versions, a $110 one and a $300 one. He said the $300 one has
extra art or something. I only have a prayer of affording the $110 one,
so can anyone tell me what it comes with? Is it autographed? What's
the cover like? Anyone know? Pleeeeeeeze enlighten me, because if my
parents are going to shell out that much cash from the Sullivan family
money bin, they're going to want to know more about what they're
