Yes, Santiago, you're right about this one--Crete is in Greece. But that's
but ONE example from Barks, since...

The Ducks are *NOT* taken by the Larkies (alias Harpies) to Greece on the
Argo. The famous Argonauts sailed from a place in Greece (Iolkos) to
Colchis, in the Black Sea basin. That place is *NOT* in Greece. Therefore,
besides the ancient Greek myth, I never considered "The Golden Fleecing" as
taking place in Greece, 'cause it's not! Anyway, Barks' story cut and pasted
various elements from the muth to fit his story: for example, he has the
Harpies living in Colchis, whereas from the Argonautica, they lived in
ancient Thrace, and they tortured a blind southsayer. The argonauts kill the
Harpies in the myth as they pass from Thrace on their way to Colchis.
Plus, I was really talking about the *MOUSE* visiting modern Greece. Other
than Barks' "The Fabulous Philosopher's Stone" and a late 10-pager of his,
(BTW, does "Horsing Around with History" count?--I guess so, if you consider
the Ducks sailing in the Aegean sea), I've also seen a few Egmont stories
sending the Ducks to (ancient) Greece, but the MOUSE has rarely visited my
country.

I apoligize in advance for being slightly off-topic. I wanted all to
know you can find some very interesting $crooge items (old
comics,toys,figures) at www.ebay.com auctions. Almost all the
non-comic items seem to be from Europe. For example, a box
of Lego type blocks that make a 'statue' of Scrooge (made in
Greece). Do you find many new items coming on the market
'over there' or is Scrooge merchandise hard to come by?
I "won" 2 figures recently of Scrooge and Magica. The only
info available was that they were on top of some Hershey's
candy tube. Does anyone here know anything about it? Thanks.

has not been published there! While LO$ has been published in MICKEY &
FRIENDS in the UK, I'm guessing that the longer "Guardians" story was
serialized IF it was published there at all....Thanks to Gerstein for his
UK index...although it was incomplete, it looks as if it is the best one
around...what is with the Brit Disney collectors? Don't they care? Can you
count them on one hand??
