Dear all.
At the moment some of us in the Inducks team are trying to find out
the original names of the members (characters) in Scamp's universe.
If you are the lucky owner of any original American Scamp story,
please listen in at http://raptus.dk/scamp
As you can see, we have concentrated on Manuel Gonzales's Scamp
universe, and less on the usual Lady and Tramp gallery which
is already more or less known to us (see Inducks for details).
What we really wish to know is the name of the little blue bird,
what's the name of Scamp's best friend--the white dog with the ring
around his eye etc. etc., and we hope that YOU can provide one or more
of those names :-)
I am sorry to tell, that you cannot *win* anything here, but your
contributions will be very much appreciated, and the names we
receive will (eventually) be an integrated part of Inducks.

I was just in Holland for a visit at a member here, and meanwhile Don
writes a great allegory on the situations we talked about here...
(issue 80) I laughed a bit, and realized that might be what's going to
happen...
I don't know what average age the readers have at the moment, but in
march last year I wrote and article about the weekly, and I told, which
I had seen in the press release that half the readers are above 18...
how can that be? are those the parents that read the comic? If half the
readers are above 18 how can the magazine be mostly for 10-13 year
olds? some rating or %-calculating went wrong here...

Are one of you not talking about the old Souper Micky that had a thick
5-tier format where Barks would be the first story, and a story running
in the low line for itself. an issue like that was what i saw at the
place Dennis Tzavaraz and I went. at that old man you know, and I think
you two know how it smelled there:-)
The new Super megalo Mickey contains movie adaptions, other stories,
maybe a little wolf-story from France.

On the following site, I show some covers made by Daan Jippes. I suspect
they were made for Gladstone, somewhere between 1986 and 1990. Could someone
who has the comics tell me on which comic they appeared?

No, that was regular "Megalo Miky", which was published in that format for
a couple of years around 1985. If I remember correctly, the fifth tier
was printed using blue ink and contained what seemed to be Taliaferro
DD strips.

I think the most complete such list appears in the book on Cavazzano

I remember even contributing some of these identifications (ie. little GCs
here and there) to Luca via email while he was preparing the book.

Becattini's "Disney Comics 1930 - 1995" (a.k.a. "the Red Book") was
published by Edizioni Comic Art in 1995. I called them a few months ago in
order to get a copy of the book for a friend, but they told me it's out of
print, unluckily. So, one just has to search in Italian comic-books shops,
or at the Comic Conventions (I got my copy at the Lucca convention in March
1999)...
The book is in Italian, and its cover price is Lit. 39,000 (about $ 20). And
it is an absolute must, IMO ;-))
