OK, I think everything is alright now again with the list.
Except that everything sent to it these last days has been lost,
and needs to be resent.
That goes for administrative mail too. I've gone through the mail
logs here, and will contact those that I think have sent mail there.

story. Yes, Scrooge SAID he melted the plate, but no, he DIDN'T.
Draw your conclusions from that.
As a proof that it's not a mistake, look at this month's Dutch DD Extra,
in page 2 of "The Incredible Shrinking Tightwad". Both the crown and the
plate are there.

machines and responding to those "unsubscribe" messages we all love
so well. I'm sure Per would rather be contibuting to the List than
running it! But it's a dirty job, and someone has to do it, or else

Mickey horror story

This week's Dutch weekly (#34) has the first episode of a Mickey horror story.
It starts with Mickey playing a computer game(!) and Minnie thinking
Mickey takes her on a cruise to Hawaii. When Mickey tries to earn
some money to finance it, he is captured in the spooky house of
Dr. Frankenollie (Disney fans might detect the pun in this name).
Mickey wears his shorts. The art looks VERY good (I could even be
Jippes 8-).
The problem is, the story has no code. It could be one of the new Mickey
stories from Egmont (David announced them some time ago). But the art
looks neither Noel van Horn, nor Ferioli.
Any fan or editor can give more information?
BTW: The Dutch made a BEAUUUUUtiful cover to the story!

Forbidium. Now there's an interesting substance. I was just reading
a Barks 16-pager last night from Dell's Disneyland Birthday Party

In the story, Gyro had just completed construction of a huge new money
bin for Scrooge made completely of Forbidium, the hardest substance
found on Earth. Then Gyro pointed out to Scrooge that tatooing the
combination of the massive front door lock to his chest was a serious
security breach. Realizing Gyro was right, Scrooge rushed out in a
panic and had a large picture of grapes tatooed on his chest over the
combination. Trouble was, before doing so he neglected to write down
the combination. Therefore, Scrooge had once again locked himself out
of a new money bin made of an indestructible material.
Scrooge and Gyro ended up having to design and build a spaceship, fly
it to the moon, find a substance even harder than Forbidium, and haul
it back to Earth. On reentering Earth's atmosphere they had to ditch
the super hard rock they had found on the moon, due to its weight.
The rock fell to Earth and scored, by great (and typical) coincidence,
a direct hit on the money bin made of Forbidium, fracturing it to
pieces and spreading Scrooge's cash all over Duckburg in a heavy rain.
The Disney Comics database shows an informal title of "The
Impenetrable Money Bin" for this story. I'm sure many longtime
Gladstone readers know it as one of their first reprints, back in 1985
(DBPG).
BTW, I echo Wilmer's comment, thanking Per for maintaining the list.
You have no idea how much this list brightens my day. Thanks again,

This is the story from the recent theatrical short entitled
"Runaway Brain". I saw it here in the US along with the movie "Babe".
The fact that the art is "VERY good" may be the tip off that it
was used from animation cells.
Just a thought...

I will be going to Niagara Falls to meet Don Rosa this Saturday
and hopefully get a sketch of $crooge. I have heard from a few
people on this list who may also attend. Please look for me at
the show. I would like to meet other Rosa fans. If all goes well
with the T-shirt transfer I'm working on, I'll be the one wearing
a picture of $crooge on the back. I am getting up early that day
and driving 200 miles so I may have a blank stare as well.
I have never meet anyone whose work I really enjoy in comics
or any other field for that matter. Also, sometimes the person
behind the work can turn out to be a real jerk. If only a fraction
of the things I've read and heard about Don are true, I know this
will be a great pleasure. Hope to see you there. Gary Pantzer
