I just re-read Rosa's Life & Times of Scrooge, part 11.
I hadn't examined the many details of this story before
when Gladstone first printed it, since there were lots
of new comics to read then. Don locates Foola Zoola's
original village somewhere up the Congo river in
central Africa, very near the Kachoonga diamond mine
and the Quak Quak tribe in Barks' "Bongo on the
Congo" story (US 33). But did Barks intend central
Africa as the location of Foola Zoola in his
"Voodoo Hoodoo" story? The clues were confusing,
because I recalled when Huey, Dewey, and Louie buy
a spear from one of Foola Zoola's guards for $10,000,
he runs off "to Capetown, boy, --Shopping." Capetown
is in South Africa. Also, the very name, Foola Zoola,
suggests he is a Zulu, who are in South Africa.
However, they are near Scrooge's rubber plantation,
and rubber plantations are located in rainy tropical regions, not
South Africa. Also, if Capetown is nearby, there would
be no need to use the airport at Whambo Jambo (page 16).
So should we presume Foola Zoola's guard is planning
a very long trip to go shopping in Capetown?
Or if Foola Zoola's village in Voodoo Hoodoo is
really in South Africa, how far is it from Glomgold's
money bin in the Limpopo valley of South Africa?

My prior post exploring the possibilities that the Russians
were involved in Duckburg early history mentioned the
Russian settlement fort at Fort Bragg, California It was in
fact Fort Ross that I had in mind that I remembered
visiting. It's near the Russian River, north of San
Francisco. Established in 1818, the very year that
Don Rosa had Fort Duckburg being attacked by "a
passel of Spainyerd soljers" (page 5, panels 5 & 6 of
His Majesty, McDuck). In fact, at that time the Spanish
had insufficient resources in northern California to keep
the Russians out, and maintained the peace via some
arranged marriage. The Russians gave up on their
settlement around 1840, and sold the fort to Sutter, who
started the California gold rush 8 years later.
Fort Bragg was an American fort established in
1857.
The Russians were still active with trading activities
and fur-trapping in Oregon and Washington until
they sold Alaska, so for Duckburg purposes, you can
imagine a damaged Russian ship carried south by the
current, and coming aground near Duckburg, which was
very small at the time 1852-1860. Remember the old movie,
"The Russians are Coming!", when a Russian submarine ran
aground on the coast of Maine, I think it was? By analogy,
the locals at Duckburg could be frightened and believed
themselves under attack, and Stonewall Duck drove them
off.
For earlier history, Barks had a Spanish galleon bury
treasure in Duckburg's bay, as they were worried they
would be captured by Drake. That must have been in
1579, when Drake sailed up the Tulebug river. Huey,
Dewey, and Louie financed a retired sailor to dig up that
treasure in WDC&S 155, "Some Heir over the Rainbow"

If You are refering to the number of woters it was in a newspaper. Metro or SvD, saturday, probably friday.

First - when did Santa Claus get particularly rich? I have never learened that from Norwegiuan traditions nor from my Disney comics. So including good old santa on this list is no less than bu..-sh...

Secondly - who the he.. is the two nobodys called "Richie Rich" and "Oliver 'Daddy' Warbucks". Are they some obscure modern US-characters created for today's kids?

Thirdly - how the he.. can they estimate Uncle $crooges fortune to ONLY $8.2 billion. That's completely ridiculus.

Fourthly - where the he.. is Flintheart Glomgold and Rockerduck?

My conlusion: the Forbes list of fiction billionaires is completely non-scientific and totally worthless.

I'll say
#1 - Scrooge McDuck
#2 - Flintheart Glomgold
#? - John D. Rockerduck

And please forgive me for being a bit upset over this matter, but I hate it when stupid people neglects facts about our dear Ducks.

They are both old American comics characters. Richie Rich is "the richest
kid in the world", and Daddy Warbucks was Little Orphan Annie's guardian.
Richie's dad must be welthier than Rich by the way.

I wonder how that person, whoever he/she might be, made the calculations?
And why... Huh...??
BTW, I was nearly to say that Charles Foster Kane is not fictional

Daddy Warbucks is certainly not a new character. He's from
the old (1924-1979) newspaper comic strip "Little Orphan Annie".
Forbes shows a picture of real people, as there was fairly recently
a musical movie "Annie" based on that comic strip. Daddy Warbucks
is earlier than the first appearance (1947) of Scrooge. I don't
know much about Little Orphan Annie, but I suppose at some point
she was adopted by Big Daddy Warbucks.

It's possible that I'm real slow here, but does that mean that Little
Orphan Annie is the very same as in the musical "Annie"?
