Well, not "all his stories about Scrooge McDuck" (a big amount of Rosa?s stories are "about
Scrooge"!), but the stories about his youth, the series usually called "The Life and Times of
Scrooge McDuck".
Yes, I own this book too, and I?ll send you a scan of the cover (I can?t scan inside the book,
sorry). I think it?s a good edition, in full colour, although it has a soft cover, and the
measures are 24 x 17 cm.

Butch, and am familiar enough with Mortimer, but I know very little about
Ruffhouse. Was Ruffhouse ever revived? How often is he used? Would he be
considered a recurring member of Mickey's supporting cast? A regular
member of Mouseton? How is he related to Minnie and how was he originally
portrayed by Gottfredson (if it was Gottfredson who created him)?

Ruffhouse, created by Gottfredson, is Minnie's lazy cousin, who

talent. He's about the same age as Mickey and Minnie.
You've caught me at an embarrassing moment, Rich. True, I've used a
lot of Gottfredson characters in my Egmont stories since 1993. I've also
edited the Mickey work of Lars Jensen, Sarah Kinney, Don Markstein, Stefan
Petrucha, and Dave Rawson, in which more Gottfredson characters regularly
appear.
But despite my now-ancient vow to revive Ruffhouse, I've actually
never done it, nor has any other recent creator I'm aware of. So he's not a
recurring member of the cast.
Yet, anyway.
At least we've done a few of those stories with Mortimer (or, as we
call him at Egmont, Montmorency) as Mickey's Gladstone-like foil. I've
written a couple; Sarah Kinney and Don Markstein have also used the

auctions of the book(s). I see regular offers of the limited edition Lo$
which usually priced at $150-250. And there's also another regular auction
where the seller seems to have many stocks of Lo$ sets. fyi the seller
offers a 12-issue set of the American Gladstone-produced Lo$ books. This
might be something you want to take a look since usually the final price
goes to something about $35-40.
Paper Dinastia is a very good Lo$ collection but like Carlos said, it's in
Italian. But it's a very good book nonetheless, good quality papers too.

I wanted to post a quick review of Don's appearance at a show in
Boston this past weekend. As always, Don patiently answered the
many questions from fans that covered a wide range of subjects. Of
course, many discussions were about Gemstone. Everyone I spoke
with expressed real excitement at the idea of seeing duck titles here
in the USA again. There were varying opinions about the long term
success, book formats, marketing, pricing, etc.
For myself, half the fun was meeting fans from previous shows whom
I've kept in touch with and I made a few new contacts as well. There
seemed to be more people who were aware of the works by Barks
and others (like Don Rosa) than at the past shows I've attended. I
take this as a good sign, but (as I've been witness to before) there was
one fellow who thought Don was Carl Barks. Oh, well....
*** Don*** Thank you!!! and don't forget about the blue-prints.

Good news (at least for German-speaking fans): Egmont Manga & Anime currently
thinks about printing Kadokawa's witch series in Germany. They'll also
publish those D/N-stories in a special edition ("sweet and sour duck") this
year.

Hi
Just bought the CBL, and took a look through some of the books and noticed
the difference hand lettering.
I read somewhere, that Barks hated this work, and Gar? Barks, his wife,
helped him do it. Can anyone tell me how I can tell the difference from Carl
Barks' handlettering to Gar?'s ?
Here's the two styles of how the hand lettering looks like:
1: Very thick and big
2: Smaller, less thick
