I'm looking for Disney comics' covers, specially Walt Disney's Comics
(and Stories) # 4, 389 and 393, and Mickey Mouse Magazine - 1st Series,
Vols. 1.2 to 1.10, 2nd Series, Vols. 1-2 to 1.5, and 3rd Series, Vol. 1.7.
In tradicional sites of covers (Covers Extravaganza -
http://eega.net/covers/cv_usa.html -, Kit's Silver Age Comic Books -
http://ksacomics.com -, or Mickey Mouse Magazine Covers Index Page -
http://www.angelfire.com/ar2/ken2/mmmindex.html) they don't exist. I
didn't find this covers in eBay, either.
If anybody has this covers or knows where I find it, please, tell

The House of Mouse episode "House of Crime", however, includes a
full-length, brand-new Pigs/Wolf cartoon titled simply L'IL [sic] BAD WOLF.
In the short, just as in the comics, Zeke tries to teach Li'l Wolf how to be
a successful bad wolf by way of various pig-catching attempts; Li'l Wolf,
meanwhile, plays double agent, helping the Pigs and trying to reform his
Pop.
IMHO a fine cartoon: I don't personally care for the visual design
of Li'l Wolf (he wears a baseball cap and modern clothes a la some French
comics), but the interpretation of Zeke is great, and the animation is in
many places very good. Li'l Wolf's voice is good, too.

Wow! Thanks for that. I tried to catch ALL the HOM episodes before I left
for China, but the programming was so unreliable. Most times it was
pre-empted or the time was changed to obscure periods like 4:00am or 5:00pm
or even Sundays rather than the 11:30am Saturday schedule. Sadly the
"House of Crime" episode is one that I missed. :-(
As for the "The Porker's Court" short on RAW TOONAGE, it was a take-off on
the TV show "The People's Court" with Judge Wopner. In the short, the
Three Little Pigs, dressed very much like they are in their HOM debut (as
the band for Big Bad Wolf), as is the Wolf. They levy charges against BBW
for destroying their houses and everyone is speaking "jive." Li'l Bad is
just one of the people sitting in Judge Hopner's courtroom, but at one
point during BBW's testimony, I seem to recall he made a reference to his
son and that's when the camera focuses on Li'l Bad (dressed in clothing
similar to the French Wolf comics), though he's not acknowledged by name.
If it wasn't for the fact that it was a Disney cartoon, and now, even
moreso, by the fact that the Wolf & Pigs in HOM generally wear Zoot suits
and such, the cartoon could have been dismissed as an alternate reality
"hip" version of the THREE LITTLE PIGS story, but HOM seems to have really
solidified the connection. Personally, I hated "The Porker's Court"
cartoon, except for the cameo of Li'l Bad, and that it seems to be the only
place where the giant Bullfrog, used in the opening segment for RAW TOONAGE
& TOTALLY TASTELESS VIDEO has a real role and name.

As chance would have it, I just happen to have read that old Gold Key story
last weekend. I didn't notice any light-hearted parodies, but a very dark
parody of what seem to have been revolutions and counter-revolutions in
either Thailand or Burma of the time. What I was definitely struck by most
was that the oriental duck that our heroes befriended (the country's prince
incognito) deliberately set up Scrooge to be captured and probably killed as
a diversion for his own purposes. Not at all what I would have expected to
read in a Disney family magazine. I've never seen it reprinted - maybe
that's why.

trapped Pigs as a jazz combo, is the *only* episode I've seen where they
wear anything other than their normal costumes. In all other episodes Zeke
and the Pigs dress just as they have since 1933.
In the L'IL BAD WOLF short, Zeke and the Pigs are dressed
traditionally. Only Li'l Wolf dresses differently- in big baseball cap,
T-shirt, and generic pants.

bought a chest full of money. After that happened, Scrooge decided to by
another chest.
He was voiced by Rob Paulsen.

The best source for Golden Age and Silver Age comic covers is THE PHOTO-JOURNAL GUIDE TO COMIC BOOKS BY Gerber (1990). WDC&S are pictured in volume two.The first 33 Mickey Mouse Magazine covers are pictured in DISNEYANA by Cecil Munsey (1974).A lot of 22 of the above sold last night at Mastronet.com (item#271).Eight of them were pictured.I was able to complete my MICKEY MOUSE GLOBE TROTTER WEEKLIES last night. I have this episode.

defendants: The Three Little Pigs. As they enter the courtroom, they are
cheered by the people sitting at the left side of the room: lots and
lots of pigs.
Then we meet the plaintiff: Large Nasty Wolf. Nasty is booed by the pig

room: A single wolf cub. The pig audience looks sternly at the cub, and
he immediately stops cheering. He does nothing else, so I'm not going to

We never learn the cub's name or his relation (if any) to Nasty. I think
it's pretty clear, though, that his personality is different from Li'l
Wolf's. Also, he looks nothing like Li'l and wears totally different
clothes. And the grown-up wolf is Large Nasty, rather than Big Bad.
Why would this be Li'l Wolf, rather than some generic wolf cub invented
for the occasion? I'm genuinely puzzled. Does anybody have a source for
him being Li'l?
