Gemstone will be releasing a giveaway reprint of "Maharajah Donald" for Free
Comic Book Day--found in comic shops throughout the US--on May 3rd. However,
the actual books won't start being released until later...
Uncle Scrooge #319 and Walt Disney's Comics and Stories will start being
published monthly starting June 17, while Donald Duck #308 and Mickey Mouse
and Friends #257 will start being released monthly on September 9. The Disney
"take-along" books, published in about the same format as TokyoPop's manga,
will appear later on.
I'm not *completely* sure if the release dates are correct, as I would think
they might have changed or could change in the future, but I'm going by the
dates on my "Disney Comics are BACK!" poster that I received from my local
comic book store.

I just came across the thought: has Vicar even drew himself in one of his
comics ? I do know he doesn't write them himself, but I was wondering if he
had a script, that gave him the oppertunity ? He has drew over 1000 stories,
and 1000's of pages.

I'm surprised Grandma wasn't used at least once in DuckTales. Since Scrooge
raised HDL by himself, she would have been easy to work into at least one
episode. I mean, there was at least one Gladstone appearance, right?
Then again, I don't really see Grandma adapting well to animation. She never
did have much of a personality outside of the "stereotypical grandmother"
approach.

Is it possible to a not-american Disney publisher, let's say, Editora Abril,
to publish Carl's "Donald Duck's Atom Bomb" and "Treasure of Marco Polo" in
their original form (NOT censored)? I mean, if they do that, won't it be a
problem with the Disney Corporation?
As far as I know this two stories are censored just in the Carl Barks
Library. Or Disney doesn't wanna then to be re-published as they were
created in ANY countrie?! Tthere are any other censored Barks' story besides
this two?!

apart from "Atom Bomb" and "Marco Polo". Yes, at least four: a cosmetic
operation was carried out for the faces of the Brutopians in "A Cold
Bargain" (US 17) as well as the faces of the natives in "Voodoo Hoodoo" (FC
238)(including the zombie), "Bongo On The Congo" (US 33), and "In Darkest
Africa" (MOC 20), although in the latter case it wasn't the censorship that
ruined the story forever, was it? :-)
Mads asked about Gare Barks' lettering. Quite frankly, I don't know when she
took over (because I only have the German CBL and can't compare), but I do
know that she started to add details, backgrounds and stuff from WDC 153
("Worm Weary") onwards. I guess that her lettering started around the same
time.

lighthearted parodies of various races of people, and strange almost-violent
acts, which I found somewhat startling (for a Duck comic) when I read it a
few years ago. I'm not sure why...
I don't recall hearing much about the story since, or seeing it reprinted.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and has it been censored? I can
definitely see something like that upsetting the "Disney is CLEAN FAMILY FUN,
I say!" attitude the current Disney seems to attempt to be pushing into our
laps.

The Dutch published Atom Bomb (I think the first reprint in the world)
in 1975, uncensored. They have been (and are still) using this same
version in every reprint, without any problems with Disney.
