tells that Kadokawa Shotenri has begun to publish the Witch series in
its Asuka magazine, in a special Japanese version made by Haruko Iida,
starting from issue #5 of that Asuka magazine. I managed to find
http://www.kadokawa.co.jp/mag/asuka/index.html, which gives more
information on that magazine, but I have not managed to find any
information about how to obtain this magazine outside Japan -- is anyone
able to help?

I'm afraid I'm not able to help you very much, but I do know that there are
*many* Web sites dedicated to importing manga. Ask around at some of the
manga-related newsgroups and message boards...

A good thing too. They should stick to that. They've been including sillier and sillier gizmos to try & attract new readers. They'd better dig in their archives, see how they did it 20 years ago and do the same; i'm sure it would attract more readers if they did it more seriously-- treu articles about really interesting subjedcts, not 20-words-max sentences about whatever trash is trendy.

There *is* a difference indeed.
I like "Le Clairon de Donaldville" ("The Duckburg Bugle"), quite akin to the former "Angle du Connaisseur".
And, judging from the new stories, it seems they have finally seen the light & dropped the godawful shaky lettering!

This issue also features the stories from "Grandma Duck's Farm Friends" (with Dumbo, Zeke, ...) and one "Daisy Duck's Diary" drawn by Barks (March '60).
And now the most important...
"The Dream of a Lifetime" is a great story! I love it!
It's hard to make any more comments without spoiling anything.
Things I particularly like: dreams dream limits; calling for help; family reunion; finale (and the way the whole story made it possible).
Any rough idea how the stories will be published? In rough chronological order? Gary?

Personally, I'd like to read only about Duck and Mouse-universes here,

I remember reading that Barks only did one Easter-cover (the one where
nephews paint Donald's golf balls like they were Easter eggs) and no
story. I might remember it wrong and I couldn't access INDUCKS to check,
so take this with a grain of salt.

Does anyone have concrete references for Barks' backgroundsdetalis in
comics, ie. like odd animals in the background, weird photos like
selfportraits on the wanted posters?
In US 51-01, he drew some odd animals, that are grazing.
If anybody could pin out, what period, Barks mainly did stuff like this, I
would be grateful. Like WDC 230-240's, or equal.
