Well, not really. I was going to reply saying you drew Scrooge
walking a path (which you now say was behind the Bin), and in the last
splash panel there is no such path visible although the Bin is seen from
the rear, but I notice there actually is a trick of light in the shadows
that could almost be a path. Damn!

Earlier I had the idea that he arrived to Duckburg in 1905 but if

LAURENT:
The editor of Picsou Magazine, Pascal Pierrey is a big fan of both Carl
Barks and Don Rosa. He tries to include a story of both in each issue of
Picsou. Unfortunately, as you will realise, Barks has produced many more
stories than Don, hence the one-Rosa-story-every-two-issues reality.
But this reality is not a rule, just a fact that Pascal has to live with.
When he can avoid it, he does, like with those issues 305 and 306.

I just finished reading The Incredible Shrinking Tightwad part 2. Two spots where I laughed out loud:
1. The 3 panel sequence where the nephews discover the bin is gone. Two panels in a row of them looking completely shocked and dumbfounded was just hilarious.
2. Louie is on top of the Beagle Boy's truck and says, "... We'll blast everybody!" The policeman says, "Hm... Just a moment! That has a somewhat objectionable ring to it!" The words combined with the pictures made for a very funny panel.

I believe the story which said $crooge built the city's sewer system was
Barks' "Clothes Make the Duck", one of my favorites. I'm not 100% sure,
but I'm kinda sure, none the less! I'll attempt to find the story and

cancelling one title and getting two new titles up and running, John Clark
and I have had to scrap our plans to attend the San Diego Con this year. To

I don't know that complaining will accomplish much no matter where it comes
from. Disney, Gladstone, and Gladstone readers are the three main factors
in what does and does not happen with Gladstone Disney comics. Disney has
the tightest control, no question, yet there is reason to question the
presumptions on which they've based their control; Gladstone knows the
product and the market, but we are juggling Disney "policy," reader
expectations, and our own aspirations, and that keeps us more than a little
distracted; readers have the most raw power, but that power, by its nature,
is in a highly diffused state and very difficult to bring to bear in the
right way on the right target (and what is the right target?).
Ideally, Disney, Gladstone, and Gladstone readers could present a united
front to bring Disney comics back to days of storytelling glory and
staggeringly high sales. Realistically, looking at our attitudes towards
each other and at the state of today's comics marketplace, this would
appear to be an unlikely prospect. I just wonder, though, if it is as
unlikely as it seems?

cancel - last minute change in plans will keep me away this

Maybe the best thing would be to choose a day once and for all and
keep that every year instead of trying to find out what would suit
most people that year each year. Everyone won't be able to be there

I was wondering how could Don Rosa draw those ducks that they look like
they are really in live. Does he have somekind of dolls (what I have
read of somewhere) or does he just have so good imagination to see those
positions? Heads can be draw easily, but theyr body is more complex to
control(is that correct?), so I have noticed, when I myself have tryed
to draw my own ducks. Because ducks don't have the samekind of body
that we human does. So is theyr anykind of secret weapon to happiness,
or is just behind hard work? Or behind the great talent?
And another question it's about the colours which are you used in
Donald. Does the artmaker paint the colours while the drawing job or do
they put those colours afterwards? Because I have seen that Donald's
shirt have been changed from the black-blue to black-yellow, and
sometimes it's even to blue-yellow while decades. So is this the work
of drawers, or just a trend?

I just wanted to let you know that the Scrooge Anniversary Story by Don
Rosa is now also published in the weekly Micky Maus Magazine in Germany.
And it seems that the german publisher will publish the story possibly
again in the forthcoming Scrooge aniversary album.
And I wanted to say that I like the story (at least the first 8 pages that
I know now) very much and it also seems that the german translation is
quite good this time. But I still look forward to see the story with the
additions Don talked about and with that wonderfull colorig in the
Gladstone version. :-)

I'm kind of new on this mailing list (meaning that actually I've been here
for nearly half a year now) The reason why I haven't let you know about my
existence is that in the beginning I thought you all really KNEW so much
about Disney-comics that I felt I did'n have anything to say. Now I've
begun to think that what we all have in common, is love for Disney-comics,
and in that company, I don't have any reason to feel inferior!
Something about myself then: I'm 29 years old female from Finland; I'm not
sure whether my age makes me young or old on this list, but I believe
me sex does make me some kind of exception... I started to read
Disney-comics even before I had learned to read: my mother (who is wise
and admirable woman in many ways) subscribed me Aku Ankka -magazine when I
was four. She says it was no use talking to me when I was reading it the
day it arrived.
My interest in ducks never went away, but it did faint a little over the
years (and I still think the stories in Aku weren't always that good
sometimes in the end of 1980's) Then came Don Rosa, and my interest was
100% back! This is really one (and I guess, main) reason why I've been
hanging out here for so long: I like to read Don telling about his works,
the background etc.
And the reason why I finally decided to let you know about me being here
was Mike, the Finnish Trekkie, who saved my day/week/month by telling that
latest Rosa-special in Aku Ankka (which I no longer can afford to
subscribe, since I'm very poor student) had come out, so I right away run
(no:flew) to the nearest newsagent to buy a copy. Thank you Mike, I
perhaps wouldn't have noticed it without you! (Though lately you have done
your best to ruin all the fun of the story by reading it through a
microscope! It's such a great story though, that it (and Don) can handle
your comments well!)
Now I just have to ask: are there REALLY hidden D.U.C.K:s at the beginning
of of every Rosa-story, includin the older ones?? The reason I'm asking is
of course that it's DRIVING ME NUTS that I can't find them!!
Then I perhaps missed some digest, but I never found out from which
Hitch's film was that scene in The Little Something Special, if it wasn't
North by Northwest??? Please, somebody, tll me! (By the way, Don, Ijust
love that story, it made me laugh and cry like no other comic story before
this! Thank you!)

I just received the latest catalogue from Another Rainbow/Gladstone/etc.
They are now offering subscriptions to "The Adventurous Uncle Scrooge
McDuck" and "Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck". So far, so good.
However:
In the last page, there is an article, accompanied by a picture of a
confused Uncle Scrooge, saying: Huh? What? *More* Uncle Scrooge! *Less*
Uncle Scrooge! The *same* amount of Uncle Scrooge! How? Wak!
According to the article:

If I understand this correctly, since I already have subscriptions to both
the Penny Pinchers and USA, this means that by doing absolutely nothing
I will magically find myself having subscriptions to all three titles:
USA (half my old subscription to that title), TAUSMD (the other half of
my old subscription to USA), and US&DD (the remainder of my Penny Pincher
subscription). Is this correct, or am I as confused as Uncle Scrooge on
this issue?
