I was with Cavazzano last week end, with Tito Faraci and other friends to
introduce his brand new exhibition of original artworks, in Milan, and his
catalogue (with his complete chrononology of works, Disney and non-Disney),
compiled with the FUNDAMENTAL IDUCKS' crew support. Incidentally, it was
published by Edizioni Il Penny (by Stefano Bartolomei) and contains lots of
illustrations never printed before.
A brand new exhibition of Giorgio Cavazzano's art in Milan? W O W !!!

In Don Rosa's 'Terror of the Transvaal', there are lots and lots of
white people to be found in *South Africa*, but only four black
people, in one single panel on the last page, and from a long
distance, so if you didn't care to look more closely, you wouldn't
even have noticed!
Is this because black people *aren't* allowed in Disney comics,
after all?
I do realise this is a tricky subject, and I want to make sure that I
don't want to insult anyone by bringing it forward.

even barks wrote sequels. whether or not you think "the money champ" is
better or not as good as "the second richest duck," it's a great yarn.

I was already disgusted about the "HOUSE OF MOUSE", with all the Disney
Characters in the same story: what do the Beast, Cinderella's stepmoter,
Mushu, Hades, Mickey Mouse, Dumbo, Jiminy, the cookie Man and the Queen of
the Heart do Together???? that is more than stupid! what about "CONTINUITY"?
do they know this word? I always have been trying to do my best to make all
Disney stuff (comics, cartoon, tv...) coincide together to do an only and
single story, but this is now IMPOSSIBLE!!!
They even made an episode of Hercule with Hercule himself, Aladdin, Jafar and
Hades Together!!! Why did they forget the white rabbit???
So... what is going to happen in this new *@+%???$??
Maybe the witch wasn't totally dead, and Snow-White decides to forgive her
for what she did, and she call her friends the 7 female dwarfs (or should I
say "Growth hormone deficient person"??), so that the dwarfs meet them, but
the sister of the witch (who married capt'n Hook) will discover the truth and
send a robot-dwarf (who doesn't smoke, of course) in the house to kill her
sister, but Dopey will tell Bambi to go and call the Rescue Rangers to save
them...

There is nothing inherently wrong with a sequel. Even Shakespeare
catered to the desires of his audience and wrote new material for his
most loved character (how many plays did Falstaff appear in?) What I
find objectionable is a low quality, poorly animated, not-very-creative,
straight-to-video sequel. I do not, for instance, object in any way to
Return to Neverland, a sequel to Peter Pan that just opened in theaters
yesterday. I have not seen it yet, but have seen the trailers to it and
it seems to be of the highest quality (i.e. designed for theatrical
release and not video.) I tend to limit my petition signing to matters
of more earth-shaking importance.
