I have to publicly apologize for my previous mail where I commented on Rob
Klein's message about country speech and so on.
I did not at all intend to criticize Rob Klein, and I was definitely not
offended by his message. Nor do I think anybody else was. Unfortunately I
seem to have given that impression.
My intention was to be a little self-ironic on behalf of us Norwegians
because we are so over sensitive with respect to dialects and the two
official languages. This situation leads to some rather ridiculous
consequences. Though, like I said, it has become much better over the years.

Actually, the inhabitants spoke vossamål.
I use nynorsk as my everyday language myself, but I don't feel that "Lost in
Andes" is insulting in any way. What IS insulting, is that nynorsk _only_ is
used when it's neccessarry (remove the extra letters) to point out that this
is a peasant or a viking. I think it's a shame that the only comic in
nynorsk in Norway is "Hårek" (I think the original name is Harald the
Viking?), to point out that "This is a Viking, living in the middel age". It
wouldn't hurt anyone if a few ordinary Donald Duck stories came in nynorsk.

So, after years of waiting, Komix will publish the
"Kalevala" story sometime between September and
December's issue, probably November's one, according
to an editor of Komix, which we talked about
"Kalevala" a few months ago. It will be a great issue,
with articles and other stuff. I don't know about the
cover yet, BUT I hope to print a Don's one.

Aires. Hard times for that, but who care. The new Picsou rise the laughable
price of 7,50 us$... Don't Cry for me Argentinaaaa...

"Donald Duck Sonderheft (Die Tollsten Geschichten)" is the best regular issue
German (non-album) comic book in which to find Barks stories. Ehapa will send
subscriptions to that magazine to other European countries, I am not sure that
they will send it world wide (but I believe they will, with the additional
postage). It also often has information pages on a sophisticated collector's
level, as opposed to "Micky Maus". I hope one of our German members will
provide the information regarding the Rosa stories. - Rob
