I'm guessing Disney comics are dead to them now, and Disney fans' questions are no longer their concern. :-/

Yeah, I was surprised, too. Some folks have been after them all summer for a response, and they've just ignored them. I don't get it. I'm a Sci-Fi fan and a Peanuts fan, too, and some of their other books interest me. I'm not exclusively a Disney fan. You'd think they'd want to retain those of us who have multiple comics-related interests...

I guess Chip only responds to questions that he can answer with "Keep reading!" or "Surprises await around the corner!" or "Here's a $1 issue of Snarked, step into my windowless van!"
Kneon, I can't believe that you were hounded like that. Is that a typical thing in the comic industry, for a marketing director to harass fans outside of the company that might be a little critical of what the comapny is doing? I've read a lot of stories, but I've never heard of that!
I'm not a fan of some of the DC relaunch, but as of yet, Jim Lee hasn't called me and told me to shut my mouth! :D

It is really sad when a comic book company doesn't care about it's fans. After all the fans are the reason why they are in the business to begin with. If No one buys their comic books then they have no reason to sell them to begin with.

Not that I'm aware of. Had I actually been freelancing for them, I could see wanting to keep the lid on sensitive information. That's true of most companies, comics or not. That's why you sign an NDA. But I had no affiliation with Boom! whatsoever except that I had sent in a submissions packet. It was a head-scratcher, for sure. I have to wonder if any other Disney comics fans were also contacted.

Regardless of how things played out with Disney, Boom! had many readers who were loyal to the Disney/Muppets/Pixar books until the bitter end. I think they at least deserve some kind of official response.
Unless they can't comment. Who knows how these things work?

Yeah I know but I think they don't care about us. Why do you think they would keep us in the dark despite our protesting? At least now we know that Duck Tales will be cancelled in October and Darkwing Duck will be cancelled in November.

Good eye, Arnaud: that's another one! DuckTales #3 is becoming the "What's Wrong With This Picture" activity page of comic books!
Here's one for issue 4 already: Scrooge is running in front of a flying airplane on the cover. You might call it "artist's freedom" but after #3 I won't give them the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks, Kneon. I've lost track of how many times I've been tempted to let Gyro build a TARDIS.
You wouldn't be able to: the BBC has copyrighted the image of police boxes. That's right: before the British police did.

*me peeking around the corner*
Me: "You guys stopped Disney comics without telling anyone?!"
Boom: "Kaboom! Surprise!!"

In all fairness: the British police didn't use police boxes for several decades, they hadn't bothered trademarking the image, and they never complained when the BBC -- again: for decades -- sold TARDIS merchandise. Meanwhile, the BBC kept the image of police boxes alive (as the TARDIS). Acting like the British police did is the sure way to losing the rights to your own invention.

I'm being nitpicky now, but both titles are cancelled in October. Boom is actually releasing *two* issues of Darkwing Duck that month.
And to the poster complaining about one of the DuckTales #4 covers, it's supposed to be a parody of the "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" movie poster.

I love the covers. It's a shame they're so misleading as to what's inside, especially since Boom still hasn't corrected it's solicitations from "Art by Miguel Pujols and Leonel Castellani" to "an intern we hired that had drawn neat things on his Pee-Chee folder."

You're kidding right? They are releasing two issues of Darkwing Duck in October? How are they going to release both issues in so little time?

Beats me, but it makes me afraid of another DuckTales #3-ish rush job.

I'm sure they're going to rush this crossover. Fortunately, the Darkwing issues will be by Silvani, so I have faith they'll look good. The Ducktales end...I'm less confident.
I guess the license is ending sooner that we thought, if Boom has to put out two of the same book in the same month. Seems like they're playing "beat the clock."

Yeah I guess you're right but I still like to get that crossover story though if it's possible for me to do so.

Ian Brill tweets they're working on it, but I've yet to see any previews online -- just cover art. Are these books actually shipping...?
