Oh oh...I wouldn't be surprised that the book got cancelled now...but this would have some effects on the Darkwing Duck crossover.
Disney might have stepped in; it's really a shame that they never tell us anything. During the whole Boom! Studios era, we haven't heard anything from them, which led to many bad mouthing them when (according to Aaron Sparrow) they were doing a very good job. I hope they will be more opened to the fans in the future.

Steet, it would be highly unprofessional if Disney publically commented on one of their licensees (unless that licensee had done something illegal or immensely controversial). That kind of thing simply isn't done.

If they cancel the Duck Tales/Darkwing Duck Crossover Story then their advertising will be all for nothing. I know the people at Boom Studios don't care about us fans but this is a little extreme. It's like they're going out of their way to let us know that they don't care about us. I find it extremely appalling. I hope the next company that publishes Disney Comics will be less ignorant than Boom.

If... and that's a big if... Boom! simply stopped publishing these books now, couldn't Marvel swoop in and finish off the storylines later? They've already been reusing Boom's stories for their Pixar and Muppet comics.

Well, I think we have an answer on the remaining issues of the Boom!/kaboom! DuckTales series...
Via James Silvani's Twitter feed just this morning: "Back home to Maui to begin work on Duck Tales 5. Oops, did I say too much?"
This likely explains the delay on DuckTales #4 - I do believe the outreach of our posts, artwork and the parody song have made a difference, resulting in the quality and content of the remaining books to be much higher

I imagine the storm of comments over Ducktales #3's poor quality got Boom a Disney smackdown. Somehow, I doubt they care enough to do it on their own, or we wouldn't have gotten Ducktales #3 in the first place.

First of all, thanks for all the nice notes everyone's been throwing my way. Duck comics were my first reads as a kid and now that I have my chance to work on them I'm glad I haven't screwed them up too badly.
I'm not exactly sure the story on the "TBA" on DT 4, but on my end I will be contributing to DT 5 & 6. I'll be pencilling a few fill in pages and inking the entire book. I really dig Jose's style and look forward to what we can do together. On the other hand I'll be doing all the art on the DW side of things. No changes there.

Mr. Silvani,
Your artwork is, simply put, beautiful. Thank you for rendering these characters so diligently. I know "they're just cartoons," but these shows had such an impact on me as a youngster that I'm still feeling their influence as an adult. It's hard not to be offended when they're handled sloppily.

I'm actually starting to wonder if we'll see the crossover storyline in a TPB only and not in individual issues. I guess we'll just have to wait and see at this point.
