Well, it might not be the worst *story* (some years ago, I translated one in which Magica attacked the Bin by blowing at it -- like the big bad wolf -- in a robo suit, then it suddenly turned to a weird space-travel kind of thing and in the end there was also time-travel involved ... *that* was the worst story I ever read and worked on... it hasn't even been published here in Germany yet, although it was translated so long ago) ... but it's most likely the worst single issue ever published as a "Disney" product. Even if only those three pages are really bad, you just can't do that when you're the licensee of one of the world's biggest and most established media companies. It's as if HBO was suddenly doing five minutes of a "True Blood" episode as stop motion, with clips cut and pasted from magazines and self-drawn pictures... and all edited together in MS Paint.

My nomination for worst Disney comic story was a different DuckTales story in which where Magica devises a spell to make Scrooge??s most ??prized possessions" float to her ?? which causes all of Scrooge??s ??Lucky Coin" (sadly enough shown to be a gold coin), Huey, Dewey and Louie to float to her, yet throughout the story, Scrooge seems to care more about his coin than his nephews, which is just played for ??comedic" effect here. Damn, I see it actually got a decent rating on the Inducks: http://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=F+JM+90235. DuckTales #3 definitely has worse art though.

I don't think the plot is award winning, but I think the major beef is the art. Disney comics have always had some pretty mediocre content to go along with great entries, but the art on this one was so noticeably copied, that it felt insulting. I disagree that it's the worst comic of all time. However, it might be one of the most disappointing.

We've just seen the "worst Disney Comic ever"-the recent Boom! Ducktales issue.

Ha ha ha. I colored the US version of that story. :)

I can't vouch for the story (I was seldom sent scripts, just pages) but I remember liking the shot of a reeeealllly angry Magica blowing the door open.

Yeah, I think that's the real issue here. Even subpar Disney art is better than an obvious cut and paste job (presumably) by a non-artist. And then those last two panels, that didn't even follow the script...
Kneon I'm sorry if I offended you but I didn't like that story. I found it very disturbing especially when Magica wins at the end.

Isn't the matter of whether or not there's been a story worse than that issue what sparked this discussion? (I really, really don't mean to be rude...but you caused me to double-check what thread I'm browsing! :))
Then logic would tell one that I don't believe that there was a "worse" (e.g. lower quality) story than the story in the current "Ducktales". Sorry, my wording was confusing, in that I wrote "worst Disney comic), rather than "worst Disney comic story".
