Okay, this may sound weird, but Donald Duck probably has been seen without any clothes on. I think the first time he was seen without anything on was "On Ice" when Mickey undoes Donald's sweater and Donald pops up out of the water where Goofy was fishing for fish and clobbers Donald, thinking that he was a fish....And Donald was only wearing a hat. But as for the first comic that Donald Duck was seen in his Birthday Suit was probably in a comic strip released by Al Taliaferro in August 2 of 1938 where he bathes in a cop motorbike.
I may be wrong here.

There was also a gag in Rosa's "Black Knight" where the Black Knight steals Donald's shirt, leaving him in just an undershirt apparently, seen only partially from the back, to the chagrin of Uncle Scrooge and his nephews.

I'm not trying to make this a creepy page! I know it seems odd that Donald Duck would cover his nudity when he loses his shirt, but I'm not making this a creepy webpage!

Hmm, well, here goes: I hate to be the "BARER" of shocking news but... the Ducks have ALWAYS run around in public without wearing any pants! Nor knickers, for that matter!

This is not quite as off-the-wall as the Magica De Spell's feet thread a while back, but it's up there. :)

An.. ODD idea for a thread, lol. Sort of reminds me of years ago when I learned that Donald Duck was once banned in Helsinki (sp?), Finland because he didn't wear pants. But he's just a duck for pete's sake, lol. And he's certainly not the only cartoon animal to do so.

He wasn't banned. The story has been misreported.

ROTFL!! (Oh, and for the response to my post: Really? I had read it in a 1984 Disney Channel magazine celebrating his 50th birthday. Was it only a rumor at the time then?)

Well, since it's Halloween and here's two pics from Italy where Donald is seen sans shirt....

Ha! I have to reply to this thread, ofcourse.
I kind of disappointed myself and could only think of a few stories where the characters are in the nuke. I'm sure there are dozens more, but this is what I could remember for now.
(if the scans I posted here are too large, I'll add thumbnails instead of full pictures)
In H94146 (written by Jan Kruse, drawn by Bas Heymans), Donald, who at that moment thinks he is Gladstone, gets robbed from his money and clothes in the park.
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/7480/image10oo6.jpg
In H96074 (written and drawn by Mau Heymans and Kirsten de Graaf), Donald's soap flies out of the window and he goes after it, ofcourse with disastrous results. This was one of my favorite stories when I was a kid! Lots of slapstick action.
http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/1869/image3we6.jpg
And then there's H87068 (Jan Kruse & Ben Verhagen)... Scrooge needs to find his way in an Egyptian temple and 'borrows' his nephews' clothes.
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/3180/image9lv6.jpg
Scrooge and two nephews are running around naked through half of the comics. I heard that this comic was published in the US, but has been censored. (!) Is there anyone who can make a scan of the US publication?

There are also a few cartoons where Donald can be seen without clothes, for example Donald Gets Drafted (1942):

What's harder to find is naked Mickey! I only know two cartoons where Mickey can be seen without any pants. The first is Mickey's Delayed Date from 1947, which is also the only cartoon I know where Mickey does not wear his gloves, ever since he got them in 1929. The other one is Mickey's Seal, from 1948. What's funny is that in the first cartoon Mickey has three toes on each foot, and in the second he has four of them. (I prefer three toes, although four may seem more logical, a cartoon character has to be simple and since a foot has no opposable thumb four toes on one cartoon foot looks awkward. It's normal to draw three toes on cartoon characters) Also in the second one Mickey does not have a tail. During the forties Mickey's tail had been missing in several cartoons.

Interesting. Because this is more of a Trivia kind of page.
I know in a few Vicar-written stories such as "A Stitch in Time" and "The Lost Suburb", Donald goes is in his Birthday Suit.
BTW-How do you get those comics?
