I was that someone, and I'm inclined to say there is a "big deal" about it,
if the number of postings dealing with the subject are any indication. But
I'm not complaining; it's a Disney comics topic that is of interest to a
number of ML contributors. That's even true of me, if only because I'm
interested in why there is so much interest.

Yes, that's quite a luxury. Comic book writers may have to keep track of
continuity these days, but they don't have to bother writing real stories.

whole lot rarer than they should be.
On Political Correctness:
A useful book that gets down to cases about this is "Free Speech For Me -
But Not For Thee," by Nat Hentoff. It'll make you think twice about
stepping onto an American college campus.

Maybe you have heard, the german custom makes problems with the newest
Disney Comic books sended from the USA. They block them because of
licensig problems, nobody knows for what reason.
So I=B4m thinking about ordering the Gladstone titles directly from =
them.
Maybe this private adressed sending will pass away at the german custom,
usually such sendings stays unopened.
Besides the high price for non-americans, which I would pay if anything
then will be ok, I=B4m very interested in the condition in which the =
books
will arrive at my mail bin. Which time they need to arrive, how they are
packaged and so on. Anyone which can deliver useful (or even not so
useful ;-) ) infos is solicited to tell me his/her experience...

is not something done easily. Which is why I used the
disrespectful title "the multimedalled guy" - my apologies do
Woodchuks everywhere! In Norwegian his title was
H.A.L.V.S.T.I.K.K (Halvstikk is a very simple knot)

Obviously! He lives in Roma, works seven days-a-week, a new very thick
book illustrated by him is gonna come out, and writes and sometimes
draws stories with Cocco Bill for the weekly "Il giornalino". A
brand-new pocket of Cocco Bill in color come uot in tne newsstands,
published by Sergio Bonelli Editore, in last May, and was such a hit!
Some years ago, with Leonardo Gori, Andrea Sani and Franco Bellacci we

King of the Klondike") she ever owned anything called the "Blackjack
Saloon" or that such a place ever existed. According to the Barks canon,
she only worked at the "Blackjack Ballroom". And I implied in "The Last
Sled to Dawson" that she must have lost it when times got tough since she
had to buy it back.
Anyway, I just figured she homesteaded the land and built the joint
herself, by being smarter than the smarties and tougher than the toughies.
How else could she be worthy to be $crooge's only love?

EVERYONE:

(The return address on this actual letter may not show that
address, and may instead be a long string of gobbledygook, but you can
take it from me that the egmont.com address works - if you're seeing the
string of gobbledygook, it just means that some weird error in Egmont's
e-mail system hasn't been fixed yet.)
THE PRUNE DEBATE:
I love the notion of a Beagle Boy liking prunes simply because
prunes are an intrinsically funny fruit. They look funny and the name
sounds funny (luckily, for all that, they taste good ;-). I wonder how
we Egmonters got the identity number of the prune-loving Beagle mixed
up, though.
For whatever it's worth, I imagine that *all* the Beagles like
prunes more than most people, but that one of them (you choose between
the Barks or Egmont number) likes them more than the others - the same
way that we all like movies, but we all know a "movie buff" who can sit
at them long past everyone else's point of no return.

I think the German government is making a mistake, because while
Gladstone comics certainly can't be sold on the INDIRECT market
(newsstands, grocery stores) outside of the USA, I think they've always
been traditionally available on the DIRECT market (comic shops) outside
of the USA. I think that it's the INDIRECT market, where the vast
majority of copies are sold, that the licenses conflict. But as you see,
that shouldn't have any bearing on German *comic shops* ordering
Gladstones.
In the same vein, one can special-order European Disney comics
in the US (I used to have a source for German and French ones), but not
at newsstands, because once again, there's where the licenses conflict.

that I'm living in Copenhagen. For now, personal mail should also go to

address, and may instead be a long string of gobbledygook, but you can

string of gobbledygook, it just means that some weird error in Egmont's
e-mail system hasn't been fixed yet.)
THE PRUNE DEBATE:
I love the notion of a Beagle Boy liking prunes simply because
prunes are an intrinsically funny fruit. They look funny and the name
sounds funny (luckily, for all that, they taste good ;-). I wonder how
we Egmonters got the identity number of the prune-loving Beagle mixed
up, though.
For whatever it's worth, I imagine that *all* the Beagles like
prunes more than most people, but that one of them (you choose between
the Barks or Egmont number) likes them more than the others - the same
way that we all like movies, but we all know a "movie buff" who can sit
at them long past everyone else's point of no return.

I think the German government is making a mistake, because while
Gladstone comics certainly can't be sold on the INDIRECT market
(newsstands, grocery stores) outside of the USA, I think they've always
been traditionally available on the DIRECT market (comic shops) outside
of the USA. I think that it's the INDIRECT market, where the vast
majority of copies are sold, that the licenses conflict. But as you see,
that shouldn't have any bearing on German *comic shops* ordering
Gladstones.
In the same vein, one can special-order European Disney comics
in the US (I used to have a source for German and French ones), but not
at newsstands, because once again, there's where the licenses conflict.
