I wonder how difficult it is to get hold of the Cheerios and Wheetium
Premiums giveaways from the -40 and -50:ies ? Are there some issues that
are harder to get than others, e.g the 3-D issues ?
I know that Atom Bomb by Barks is expensive but that doesn't really
imply that there are less copies in existense of that one. I think that
it simply means that Barks is more popular amongst collectors, hence a
high prize. Here I assume that it actually has a much higher prize than
the others.
What prize is fair to pay for them if you get hold of them ? Lets say
for about G - FN quality.
I like very much comics that have strange formats hence my interest
specifically in these. I also like very much odd titles and that only
were released in a few issues, e.g the Firestone Giveaways or the Dell
giants or the Silly symphonies or ...

version is flipped. This might be because the Euro version appeared on
Donald Duck titles and the American version was used on an Uncle $crooge
title. The main character, the title character, should be facing to the
right, "forward", in the direction the story will be read.
For just such a reason, I'll usually draw a story in such a way that as the
Ducks are entering a jungle or tomb or otherwise advancing into their
adventure, I will have them traveling to the right. On their return, I will
draw the action generally towards the left. Not a hard and fast rule,
something I think I do mostly subconsciously.
This subconscious storytelling is what I think my "secret" is, and there
must be a secret, because I still wonder about the popularity of my weird
looking stories. But when people start telling me that the "pacing" or the
"motivation" or the "timing" or the etc., etc. of my stories is brilliant
and they want me to describe how I achieve it, it worries me greatly since I
don't know what they're talkin' about. I just slap the story down on the
paper the only way it seems like it can be told. I don't analyze it, and
such questions from readers make me worry that anything I do right must be
by sheer accident and I'll never do it right again. But hopefully, if I'm
doing it right, I'm doing it right subconsciously just because I've read so
@$#%* many funnybooks (and seen so many old movies) ever since birth. At
least I hope that's the "secret" -- I don't know what else it could be. If I
was analyzing these techniques (if that's what they are), I think it would
surely spoil the brew.

Perhaps the U$-version was flipped because they wanted to put that
little white box with Donald in it. If it hadn?t been flipped, it would
have concealed Donald somewhat.

depicted as gold in the latter. I think the U$ colorist looks much more
believable.

L&T), but had to make do with the common yellow pop-up because I didn't had time to toy around with
html.
you can find many html / dhtml / javascript sites that will show you how to do it-- plus, you can
always look at the source of any web page to see how they've done it (Explorer & Netscape: View
menu, Page Source).

(Don Rosa e il Rinascimento Disneyano), it is in the "bottom left brush". Well, I can't see it.

Thanks so much for the update on Gemstone comics, Gary. So by fall
we should have 4 monthly comics and a bi-monthly trade paperback
series? This is fantastic news and way more than I could have hoped
for! I am so glad to see Gemstone making such a strong start. I can
barely wait for these to come out and I am sure many other mailing list
members feel the same way. Could you give us any info on the trade
paperbacks? Are they going to be thematically based around a subject,
creator, etc.? Or are they "just" going to be collections of various
stories? Either way I will by buying it every other month along with
the 4 monthlies! Thanks again for the news!

Hi all!
As some of you may know - these days there are
World Championships in "Skiing - nordic events"
going on in Val di Fiemme, Italy.
After 4 days (5 events) Norway have won
3 gold medals
1 silver medal
3 bronze medals
These numbers 3 - 1 - 3 makes me think about
the numberplat on Donald's car - what a nice
Norwegian tribute to our hero!

A few days ago our Danish friend AC Siveb?k
mentioned that he and I watched the Norwegian
film Tante Pose (from 1940) during his recent
stay in Stavanger.
Shortly after I notified you that one of the
actors Knut Wiegert played a young student
called Paul Waage.
Is this Norwegian actor, Knut Wiegert, a
relative of you, Theresa?

stay in Stavanger.
Shortly after I notified you that one of the
actors Knut Wiegert played a young student

Hi all!
Lately Sigvald mailed and went "berserk" and
send stupid messages 2 or more times a day.
Things like this happends, we all know that - don't we? So
this incident didn't cause any problems for Sigvald afterwards.
Anyway, when the exact same thing happened someone
accused Sigvald for doing it by purpose. Some of them
even called him a spem-terrorist and some
were talking about kill-filters.
I hope the last incident has proved beyond
reasonable doubt that he is NOT *innocent* in
posting OT mails a few times by purpose, and
that the "DCML-anti-spam-guerilla" was not wrong
in their to-quick conclusions after that
incident.
So now we can all put that incident behind us
and look forward.
